I signed up with these scumbags in December 2010. Before giving them my money, I spent some time researching them. I googled the name, and of course found a few bad reviews; but for the most part people were singing their praises.
I then looked them up on the BBB website, where I found 58 total complaints, of which 48 had been resolved, over a 3 year period. This is a pretty good record when compared to reputable companies, some have hundreds of complaints a year. I reviewed randomly several of the complaints, and found nothing suspicious; it seemed the company had gone out of their way to satisfy these individuals.
The way I got sucked in is much the same as what I've been seeing on these ripoff report sites - lots of enthusiasm, and talk of all the money to be made doing this marketing scheme - they make you feel special by telling you you'll be a poster child for their infomercial success testimonials.
These people must be some pretty skilled scammers with lots of practice; in order to have made them-selves look that good on paper, while stealing everyone's money. They got me for almost $8000. How can you protect yourself from a scam when they cover their tracks so well? It still blows my mind that I couldn't find any real dirt on these weasels beforehand.
I will continue to make efforts towards getting my money back, but I seriously doubt that will ever happen.
Be aware people, that the fact that you don't find bad news about the company you're dealing with, doesn't mean they won't rip you off.
On a side note, if any of you scumbags from FLS read this; you in particular Jon Lewis, I hope and pray you will try to retaliate in some way. You have my information, come and see me, I dare ya.

Jon Lewis Was Not a Front Man
AUTHOR: Jon - ()
SUBMITTED: Monday, January 05, 2015
To clear things up, I (Jon Lewis) was NOT a front man for Fortune Learning Systems. I was a coach/consultant, just an employee of that company. I was completely unaware of any issues regarding FLS and the FTC investigation that ensued.
Now that some time has passed, my opinion regarding the FTC investigation (find it here) has changed. I agree that there were problems with the sales process and it deserved investigation.
I feel bad for those who feel like they spent too much money on that program. I also feel bad for those that feel victimized. To clarify, I think it's a misconception that those people were completely defrauded, since they did indeed received services from us coaches. Now, whether or not one feels that the service was too expensive for what they got is up for debate. The problems that caused the FTC investigation were happening between the salesperson and the customer. Some in the sales department were using less-than-ethical practices to caputre the sale. I was not in the sales department, so I had to hear about this in the aftermath.
I'm now very dissapointed in those individuals that enganged in that type of sales. Those practices sparked an investigation that cost a lot of people in terms of money, jobs, etc.
Please stop naming me as the "front man" since I was a victim too. I didn't receive my final paycheck for the services that I performed. Also, I didn't know that unethical or illegal practices were underway, and had I known, I would have made different choices.
Thank you.

I'm Jon Lewis, I'm not to blame

I understand that people are upset with FLS, but I can't believe I was named here in this complaint. I was an employee there, not the "front man" as was described in this complaint.
I was shocked to see the FTC come into our building to investigate us. I don't think it was deserved at all.
Either way, I did the best I could as a coach and I help many people learn how to build a website and understand internet business.
