I purchased a Sharp LCD TV online and got an email to call Sam at 800-457-0889 Ext. 2051 to confirm the order. I knew they would try to up-sell, but I didn't know they would be rude, dishonest and basically do a bait and switch on the shipping.

Basically Sam tried to up-sell me on an overpriced warranty that can be bought for less than half the price elsewhere. I wouldn't go for it so he tried to throw in the shipping upgrade and a cleaning kit while lying and saying the warranty I can buy for $175 has a deductible, they charge $100 to register it and it does not include cleaning. Which none of is true.

So I told him after a bit that I just want the TV and he tells me that I have to upgrade the shipping $200 for insurance and said that if I didn't it was my problem if it got damaged in shipping. Which they say nowhere what-so-ever on their website.

Sam was also very rude and talked down to me.

What they are doing is going way to low on their price so they will list as the low price on shopping comparison websites like froogle.com or bizrate.com. Then they also show a basic, ground shipping that is much lower than everyone else with other shipping that is higher priced. They do not say on their website anywhere that the lowest price shipping is insured or not and they do not say that you are responsible for the shipping damage if you get the lowest price shipping. They also do not say that the higher price shipping is required.

Bait and switch at it's finest.
