Debbie advertised a horse for sale in the Chieftain Newspaper. The ad read, gentle broke horse for sale. She guaranteed him to be gentle broke and totally sound. When I purchased him, she did not have the brand inspection. She said, she would go home and mail it to me. She also, didn't want me to go to her home. Instead, she loaded up the horse and called me to meet her along the side of the road. I should have been suspicious then. I had a highly experienced horse person come with me. I wanted a second opinion. I am disabled and needed a gentle broke horse. This question was brought up several times to Debbie. She assured my witness and myself this horse was gentle broke and totally sound. She said, she would haul him to my house for an extra fee. A severe wind/dust storm had already caused problems trying to deal with the horse situation along the roadside. When Debbie brought the horse to my home, I gave her a check. I asked her to sign a reciept for the purchase of this horse since I did not have a brand inspection.
A few days had past and I went to get on this gentle broke horse. I wanted him to first get acclumaited to his new home. When I went to get on him, he turned into a different horse. He tried to rear and throw me off. He tossed his head up and down and acted like he lost his mind. Again, I am disabled and I asked her for a kid safe horse also, for a disabled person. I had a professional person come out to ride him. At this point I'm afraid of him. He was underweight when I bought him and had bite marks. I called Debbie and asked if she gave this horse any calm medicine or bute. I told her this is not the horse I asked her for. This horse started trying to rear up and flip over with the professional rider. He lunged at us with his ears back and tried to bite. On top of all that he was lame.
Numerous times I tried to get ahold of Debbie by phone, e-mail and other researched resources. It took the Sheriff to get my brand inspection several months later. Also, Debbie finally sent the owners transfer. The prevouis owner said, the horse was mentally crazy and unsound. The horse also is lame with nuviculure bone damage. I went through all of this for over six months. Now the horse has been given free, to a person who will allow this horse to live the rest of his life in a pasture. The bottom line is she sold a disabled person a lame horse and one that could of killed me. Please contact me for any further information, by letting me know through this report agency.
