On 7/8/9, I purchased, via debit card, an offering on television of a book entitled Free Money. Said book was advertised at a price of $29.95, and included free was another book entitled Debt Cures. At the time of purchase, I spoke with a telemarketing representative, who attempted to sell me, in rapid-fire context, a plethora of unwanted and unneeded other materials, to which I declined.

The following day, on 7/9/9, my bank account indicated a debit in the amount of $53.85nearly double what I had agreed to the previous day. I immediately
called the contact number and attempted to cancel said order. I was informed
that cancellation was not possible, and that no option was available to me until I had physically received the productensuring them the opportunity to engage the inflated shipping and handling charges?? This despite the fact that the package was not mailed to me until 7/10/09.

On 7/15/9, I received said book(s). The package measured 10 x 7.5 x 4.5 inches and weighed less than 3 pounds. There was no special treatment associated with the mailing except delivery confirmation. A quick check with the USPS revealed that the additional $23.90 was way exorbitant, and in my opinion such activity amounted to a postal scam by conscripting the innocent complicity of the USPS as a fait accompli.

I received a return authorization number as well as instructions
for the product return, after it was explained to me that only the original
$29.95 would be credited back to my account. Part of the return instructions
was that my name and address must be placed inside the return package.

Hence, I included same, also stating the following for what it was worth:
be advised that I am in no way waiving any available legal remedy by returning the book(s) or by including my name and address in said package. I am of the opinion that Mr Trudeau is engaging in an on-going postal and media scam designed to fleece unsuspecting persons of their hard-earned money by misrepresenting the cost of his product, with every intention of recovering that cost even when said product is returned through grossly inflated shipping and handling fees and allowing the very same product to be possibly and similarly resold again and again.

Consequently, I recover this small portion of my extorted expenditure under
protest and without legal prejudice, keeping intact every legal remedy at my
disposal and waiving none.

I am also submitting complaints to the FTC, BBB, USPS, and anyone else that might have the authority to persuade MR Trudeau to cease and desist from this apparently unethical and possibly illegal activity. The FTC has already on previous occassions prevailed against Mr Trudeau as a result of his nefarious activities on other publication claims of his.
