Last year on May 3, 2007 I was babysitting my three cousins while my boyfriend David was checking on the clothes in the apartment washateria across the parking lot.

I heard a knock on the door while I was cooking. I thought it was my boyfriend just playing around with me. I yelled for him to come in. I didn't hear a response. I yelled a second time and no answer. I opened the door thinking it was my boyfriend. It was not him.

I saw a young man there. I looked at him and waited for him to say something. He told me his name while he shook my hand and told me that he was selling magazines for some kind of school bond. My boyfriend was coming up the stairs looking at him wondering who I was talking to. Then the young man shook his hand and told him what he was selling. The young man seemed to be nervous when David came. I think it was his guilty conscience that made him appear nervous.

We weren't going to buy anyting but I just made a little money from babysitting and thought I would help the man out. David ordered the ESPN and I went ahead and ordered the Vibe magazine. The young man had a list of all the magazines to chose from. We filled out the slip with our addresses and he signed his name.

Now that we look back we realize that his name cannot be made out. He kind of scribbled his name on the line. We never recieved our magazines. The paper said that it should arrive from 90 to 120 days. Months went by and we still didn't recieve anything. I kept making excuses that it was taking longer because I didn't think he looked like somebody who would do something of that sort. He looked like an honest, young, sincere man just trying to raise up some money to help him with school.
That was a very good skill he used about selling the magazines for school. Any good natured person doesn't mind helping out a young kid with his school if they have a little extra money.

It has already been a year since we have been putting it off. Today I finally pulled out the old receipt and read a small paragraph on the it that said,"Be sure amount shown in balance due box is enclosed with yellow Mail in Copy and mailed within (10) days so your order may be promptly serviced. Then I realized that he never said anything about having to mail in the yellow copy. Today we finally googled the address and P.O. Box and could not find anything but a rip off report about this scandal.
