Rip-off Report Investigation:

Editor's UPDATE: Positive Rating and Recognition has been given to Freedom Debt Relief for its Commitment to Excellence in customer service.

Rip-off Report's investigation of Freedom Debt Relief (FDR) uncovers continuous commitment to ongoing improvements in customer service with the goal of total client satisfaction. This means that clients can expect the company will always work towards finding a mutually satisfactory resolution to any complaints or concerns. FDR's primary concern is to get their clients debt free in 2-3 years with the best possible client experience.

Freedom Debt Relief's CEO stated "We understand that the only way to grow as a company is by recognizing that we can and should get better every day and then committing the resources necessary to achieve excellence". He then added, "We have a terrific business committed to excellence but we also know that we have made mistakes, all businesses do, but it's how we react to those mistake and fix them that makes us a better company ".

As a sign of their commitment, Freedom Debt Relief recently conducted a customer and employee survey with a the commitment to continual improvement and customer service excellence. As a result of this survey Freedom Debt Relief has implemented new processes centered around a superior customer experience. An executive told Rip-off Report that Freedom Debt Relief's corporate mantra is clients first, employees second and profits third if you take care of the first two the third will follow.

Rip-off Report has confirmed that Freedom Debt Relief's approach to business includes company-wide quality assurance initiatives. The result of which, leads to continual dedication to client focused processes, customer outcomes and employee relations. Rip-off Report was pleased to learn that the company's past and current approach to business is focused on its pledge to total commitment towards client satisfaction. Rip-off Report also learned the company has won an award as Best Places to Work in its market in addition to a prestigious award by Ernst & Young as Entrepreneurs of the Year in northern California.

A senior Freedom Debt Relief executive commented "We're at a time in our country's history where the average American family is saving less than $450 per year and has a mountain of debt compounding at very high rates. We do our very best to get our clients out of debt and have a track record of settling debt for 49% of what is owed but this is not a silver bullet, there are no free lunches". Rip-off Report feels it should comment that when a consumer assumes credit card debt it can often become a very difficult process keep up with interest and to pay back the full principal owed. In addition there are the aggressive collector calls and stress. In the business that Freedom Debt Relief operates they understand the pain associated with unsecured debt spiraling out of control and they have built a team around reducing that pain to the extent it is possible

It is our opinion that individuals experiencing financial difficulty can feel confident in the fact that Freedom Debt Relief has worked with thousands of customers and has successfully settled tens of thousands of accounts. FDR has over 450 employees dedicated to providing the best possible customer service and client outcome.

FDR recognizes that complaints posted on Rip-off Report (true or not) are issues that need to be addressed and if handled correctly can be valuable learning opportunities. With the feedback generated by Rip-off Report's Investigation FDR has made organizational changes allowing their clients a more streamlined approach to problem resolution and a total overall commitment to customer experience.

In summary, after our investigation, which included discussions with Freedom Debt Relief Senior Management, Rip-off Report is convinced that the company has been and is committed to quality delivery of services resulting in total client satisfaction.

===================== NOW TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED

===================== Freedom Debt Relief Gave Away $1200 for nothing. San Mateo California

I started with Freedom Debt Relief in June thnkiing that they were a great company to be able to work on getting my credit cards paid at 40% of the original balance. I wasn't in trouble or behind but I had a good sized IRS bill to pay by August, so I thought this would be a great opportunity. I had a call from another company like them and the guy called me every day and kept pressuring me to use his program and became quite aggressive.

After that, I had many conversations with their staff who convinced me that their program was a quality and legal program. I realize now that I should have realized that if they were going to take their fee up front then their intention wasn't my best interest. it was theirs. They received $1300 of my money and once the fee was fully paid they said I was free to quit the program at any time.

This was after I had gotten very upset with them for losing my information and not giving me correct information when I need answers. There were a couple of people that seemed to be able to answer a question with a straight answer but there were others that seemed like they were "Joe Blow" off the street trying to get his bills taken care of and had been promised a bright future that probably won't manifest.

I decided to end the relationship before I lost any more money with this mess and asked for the money to be returned to me that was in my account since they had already taken their fee and I didn't hold any hope that they would return money that they received without giving any service other than lip service. I checked my account the next day and they had taken half of what was in my account for their "bank fee". This was after I had faxed in my termination notice.

They took another couple of fees after that. I'm sorry but this is not a legitimate company, except for themselves getting rich while we the client get deeper in debt and deeper in trouble with crediters. My credit score was not bad when I started and I don't even want to look at it now. I have gone to an attorney to file a chapter 13 so I don't get sued or garnished.

The programs last 2-3 years

AUTHOR: Joey - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 01, 2008

Our customers need to look at the big picture. If they hang in there for the duration of the program they will be debt free. There is no quick fix for eliminating debt. The programs do not last 2-3 months, They last 2-3 years. It's a shame some folks loose faith after a couple of months.

"No up front fee" - NOT TRUE

AUTHOR: Debi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 14, 2007

I can't believe that you even put that information in a rebuttal for FDR. I paid $1200 and got nothing back, what do you call that if it isn't an up front fee? In all of my communications with FDR, not once did anyone offer to return my "service fee". What that means to me is I am out $1200 and most of my credit accounts are in collections and people are threatening me constantly. I couldn't even get my last payment back because $236 which was only part of my monthly payment of $279 became $115 after you guys made sure to take a few more fees out after I terminated my account.

Freedom Debt Relief - Saves Millions Every Month for its Clients

AUTHOR: Brads_freedom - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Freedom Debt Relief works VERY hard for its clients. There is zero "upfront fee" and there is a money back guarantee.

What our partner clients must realize is that there is no perfect quick and immediate fix to a serious debt problem. FDR, nor anyone, cannot just snap their fingers and make debts dissappear (although we sure wish we could).

What FDR does do is set up a quality program that will resolve your debts for a fraction of what you would pay by making minimum payments. You are right that your credit might go down in the short-term, but in 2-3 years (if you stick to it!) you will be debt free and have the ability to regain solid financial footing.

If you want to discuss your specific results we would be happy to anytime. We are here to help. That's what we do.

#2 Consumer Comment

FDR has done wonders for me

AUTHOR: Josh - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 12, 2007

You should have stuck it out Debi, I have been a client of theirs for 1.5 years now and over half of my accounts have been settled and are reporting 0 balances on my credit report. It's true that most of my money went to fees in the beginning, but now my accounts are being settled and it feels great. My credit did take a hit in the beginning, but now it's over 100 points higher with my cards being settled, and I imagine I will be decent after all my cards are settled. You gave up and filed Bankruptcy, Ch 13, where you still have to pay back your debts, and you have put a nasty black mark on your credit that will haunt you for at least the next 7 years. FDR is not a scam, they are 100% legit and have an impeccable record with the Better Business Bureau.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

You did not give FDR a fair chance...

AUTHOR: You Made A Huge Mistake! - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 12, 2007

Less than six months into your 2 or 3 year contract with FDR, you quit. Of course, anyone who does a service desires to be paid. You did not give FDR the chance to honor their part of the contract and defaulted.

I am also an FDR client. I hope that they help my family. Time will tell...
