In October 2006, I received a call from a representative at Freedom Financial stating that they would send me a visa or mastercard credit card to be able to use anywhere just by verifying that I had a bank account in good standing. I gave the rep the information.

Well a few day later I learn that I was not being given a visa or mastercard, but a catalog card in which purchases can ONLY be made from some catalog and in addition, they were trying to debit my bank account for $275. Little to say, I was highly pissed.

I contacted the company, which they were rude and each representative had a different story. I had to close my bank account to prevent them from debiting my account.

Well, on November 18, 2006, I receive a letter from a law firm, Anderson, Randolf, Price LLC, stating that I owed $145.00. I called them and was informed that I had to pay that amount since I cancelled service, was sent to a collection agency---> which I never even received a letter from their company stating that I owed them money, and charged due to the fact that I closed my bank acct. I informed him that there was no way I would pay a company that was fradulent and misrepresenting their products. The guy then told me that if I didnt pay, they would report it to the credit bureau. I informed him that I would dispute the charges with the credit bureau and Freedom Financial would not here the last of me, which they wont.

I AM NOW IN THE PROCESS OF REPORTING THIS COMPANY TO THE BBB AND ANY ANY ELSE THAT WILL HEAR MY STORY. I AM ALSO CONSIDERING SUING THIS COMPANY FOR MISREPRESENTATION. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS COMPANY AND HAVE FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS WITH MY SAME SITUATION.

Remember, businesses pay dues to belong to this organization. When the fox guards the henhouse, how much chicken goes in YOUR freezer? These 'fly-by-nights' prey on those that are willing to give out their information on a kiss and a promise.

Now, send out your validation letters (Steve is great with this stuff), and I'm guessing this isn't going to go very far, since you're not going to sit and take it. Going forward, NEVER give ANY information over the phone to ANYONE that calls. If you didn't call them (I call my CU all the time, and have to verify my identity with my birthdate of last 4 of my social.... no prob, I know them, I called them so we're good) don't tell them nuttin'.

If it sounds to good to be true........
