As it's difficult to explain in any other way, the following is the content of my Email to Q Business Solutions Inc., the people to whom PayPal supposedly paid my money, and explains what happened to me (no one, not even PayPal, has responded to my complaint!)

This morning I went to CNet Downloads, with the intention of downloading Avast 4.7, the free edition, to replace a trial edition of Norton Antivirus on my new system; which is due to expire in a few days.

I clicked on what I believed was the Download for the free edition, and ended up with the offer of 3 years coverage for US $37.95: i.e. for the paid edition! As I had the free edition of Avast on my desktop computer that crashed in February, and liked the way that worked, I decided (although as a retiree, I can ill afford it), to go ahead and buy it.

I paid by PayPal, and got a confirmation of a payment to Q Business Solutions Inc. of $37.95 American, yet the only other email I received was from support@freedownloadhq.com with the following message:

"Congratulations and thank you for your recent subscription to Software-HQ. As a member, you will now have access to the finest software downloads available (not borne out so far), along with world class technical support (this appears to be a joke too). In just a few short moments, you will be downloading many of today's best internet downloads.

You may now log into the website by using your email address you signed up with. Please click here to access our site: http://www.software-hq.net/members/logon.asp IMPORTANT: Remember to bookmark this page for easy return access.

Thanks Again

I went to that website, and was asked to log in as a Member, under my email address, despite that I was not a member (presumably I am now), and was then effectively asked to choose the kind of software in which I was interested, and was then offered a number of AntiVirus programs, including Avast A/V 4.7 (which by my understanding is the Free version!), which, amongst others, I could download. Within another section in the centre of the page, I was offered Download Accelerator Plus, which I decided might be useful - since I'm forced at present to use dial-up, at a literal snail's pace of about 6 kb/ps - which then operated at less than 2 kb/ps: SOME ACCELERATOR!!! What I still haven't received is an acknowledgement of having purchased Avast antivirus 4.8, a link from which to download it, or a serial number with which to activate it!

I would like some assistance please, or my money back. I like to know who I'm dealing with, and who you are (Q Business Solutions Inc.), and what your relationship to CNet, Software HQ, and freedownloadinghq.com is in no way clear to me, any more that the lack of detail of the transaction provided to me by PayPal (International?). It seems that what I bought was of no importance to PayPal!
