freeshipping.com Not sure,,, but believe I was deceptively offered free shipping,,, w/o realizing a scam was taking place. As I watched my paltry Soc. Sec. disappear from my checking account there seemed to be a pending discrepancy for 12.97 & then this morning I see that I was billed 12.97 from this SCAM outfit!! I'm not sure how I was ripped off here? I would say that whatever deceptive practices that they employ,, they're really below the radar,,,, because being on a fixed income.... I watch every penny coming out of my monthly social security check. Let me add that I just don't blindly sign up for anything online. But,, somehow, way....  that appears what happened here! I sent request to have my 12.97 returned to my account & will be contacting my bank to block these leeches!!

I write in regards to the above referenced complaint submitted to your office by Mr. Minto. We regret any confusion or inconvenience he experienced when doing business with our company and trust that this letter will address his concerns.

Our records show that on August 23rd, 2017, after making an online purchase on Overstock.com, Mr. Minto was presented with an ad banner promoting our FreeShipping.com program. Mr. Minto clicked on the banner and arrived on our order registration page, which provided full details about our money saving membership program and how he can try the program at no cost for 7 days.  The terms on that page, titled “Offer Details,” explained that if he did not cancel his subscription by the end of the trial, his subscription would automatically continue and the monthly subscription fee would be charged to the credit card account that he provided.

Our records show that he completed the registration process by providing his full contact and account information and checking a box that states “I agree to the Offer Details and the Terms of Use & Service” just below the offer terms. Shortly thereafter we sent Mr. Minto a welcome e-mail to the e-mail address he provided upon enrollment that included full information on how he can access and enjoy his program benefits and reiterating the program billing terms.

Prior to receiving this complaint, Mr. Misto emailed us and we refunded him the membership fee at that time.   That should post back in 2-5 business days.

Again, we regret any inconvenience this may have caused Mr. Minto.
