Friedman Investment Group Rude and unprofessional. Renters beware and know your rights. Van Nuys California

I had a terrible experience with Friedman Investment Group, and would like to warn others so that they don't waste their money applying for one of their rental units, and also are aware of their rights as renters in California.

Friedman Investment Group charges $35 per person for an application to rent one of their apartment units. Part of this fine is intended to cover the cost of a credit check. Friedman Investment Group never performed this credit check, meaning they accepted money for a service they failed to perform. They also forbid us from learning the outcome of our application. I called multiple times to check on the status, and was told by a very rude person that they had no information on our application status. Under California law, property management groups are required to notify prospective applicants who have paid the fee of the outcome of their application. We were denied this right.

My interactions with Friedman Investment Group were very upsetting. They were rude, unprofessional and according to my understanding, fail to abide by the law to inform prospective tenants of the outcome of their application. Would never recommend anyone to deal with them.
