I have been looking for cars to purchase for a couple months now. Every dealership in Texas will allow you to drive across their lots looking at vehicles. this Dealer is the only dealership that does not allow access by vehicle into their inventory lot to look at cars to see if there's anyone I would like to look at further or take for a test drive. Even after showing my handicap placard they still refuse to allow access. The first time was Thanksgiving weekend when it was 30 degrees and 15 mile an hour winds and it was too cold for me to hobble to the other side of the dealership from the handicap parking slot to get to the parking lot with the cars.

After complaining I figured they would fix it so 5 weeks later I came in on another cold windy day and I was still flat out told no access even after showing my disability placard that is ADA non compliance. My plans are to inform the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney Generals office cuz I'm not getting any satisfaction from Frisco Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram period be wary about purchasing anything from this dealer because they do not care about Frisco residents.

UPDATE March 16

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Sunday, March 13, 2016

My partner ad I have been to over 30 dealerships in Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Richardson and Addison. All have open lots so you can drive around and look at cars. We have tried Buicks, Dodges, Fords, Nissans, Toyotas and Infinitys. No lot has ever refused us access.  Only the Frisco Cdjr. And what do the cdjr's have to say about frisco cdjr?? Not much.....

So we are almost ready to buy our next car, cash, but it will not be in the town we live becaus of the repeated discrimination.

So, I'm done wth this complaint.  I've told the mayor, chrysler corp and let all city facebook pages know about the lousy service at frisco cdjr,, I'm done with this.

I'm calling my case closed. and Frisco cdjr a disriminating business, period..

 Thanks all.

Not Looking for anyone's opinion on this issue, unless its from the dealer. Gripe a you want about my disability and or lack of ability to get around. But, when a couple rolls into your business wanting to drop 30 grand on a car, why do you tell them no? don't give me crap about people driving thru lots trashing cars during business hours. never hear of jt on the news. And if your business prejudges everyone that way, get the hell out of the car business! write what you want, but if you aren't the dealership, I could care less. ethical business standards apply to everyone in the U.S.

Robert and TYG nasty trolls that don't know what this website is for.

1st: I work for a dealer far from this one, and in a colder climate.

The OP felt that they Should have to allow access.

Instead of doing something to accomidate a Handicaped "Guest". (Dealer Speak of a customer that hasn't bought anything yet) They ignored the issue and made no attempt to help him.

Dumb, nasty, stupid all come to mind.

And then there are TYG and Robert....

Just because the law doesn't require it doesn't mean the OP should not have been accomidated in some way.

We, in the middle of winter, use a older 300M for this accomidation, In summer we have a fleet of golf carts.

Makes it easy for the salesmen to latch onto a Guest. ; )

Entitlement Attitude...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 20, 2016

If there were schools that offered a degree in "Entitlement" you could hold a Masters.

The fact is that the ADA does not give people with special needs the right to do what ever they want.  It is a guideline that in effect states that a business must make REASONABLE Accomodations for people who are disabled.  This would be standard things that generally requires businesses to have doors wide enough to accomodate wheel chairs, if they maintain a parking lot to have accessable spaces close to the main entrance.  It doesn't give a person the right to drive their car through a businesses car inventory.

If you don't want to walk their car lot.  I went to their site and you can shop their entire inventory on your computer.  You don't even need to go to the dealer.  If you want to see it in person, you can go to the dealer let them know what car you are interested in and I bet they would bring it up to the main showroom for you.  I would even bet if you called in advance they may even have it there as you arrive.  That would be a "reasonable" accomodation.  What you are asking is just 100% pure entitlement mentality and 100% wrong and a slap in the face to many disabled people.

But do you know what really killed any creditibility you may have.  The statement you made that "every" dealership in Texas allows you do drive across their lot.  Last time I checked and unless Texas just recently gave some land back to Mexico they are the 2nd largest State in the US, and according to the Texas Auto Dealers Association have over 1200 francised dealers.  So let me ask you this.  Just when did you get time to visit all 1200 car dealers?

Now, of course if you still think you are right, then how about posting the SPECIFIC regulation or code of law that requires a car dealership to allow you to drive through their lot.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry but as a disabled person I can understand your frustration but NO WHERE does it state that ANYONE has to make consesions that are in essence a chance for YOU to crash into THEIR cars. Despite YOUR EGO there is NOTHING that states that THEY have to allow YOU to drive around. THEY only have to make the best effort possible to accomidate YOU. Just because another dealership allows YOU to drive around doesnt mean that EVERYONE is going to allow you to do so. Your vehicle is MORE then the nessasary 36 inches that is allowed for a disabled person. YOU CAN WALK so do so. Wallowing in your disability is YOUR problem and NOT theirs. WHY you would expect that YOU are going to get special treatment due to YOUR disability is beyond me. Obviously THEY dont want people driving around THEIR lot with their vehicles. ITS COMMON SENSE which Im sure YOU would have figured out once YOU stopped trying to play the victim. YOU have NOT been ripped off and YOU expect SPECIAL TREATMENT when YOU DONT DESERVE IT!!!!! If its too cold for YOU to get off your rump and WALK AROUND then go on a day that isnt so cold and STOP making what amounts to FAKE ripoff reports. It ONLY shows YOU to be the problem and NOT THEM!
