Furniture Center Of Flatbush ripoff furniture store Brooklyn New York

I purchased a bedroom set with wardrobe and additional chest on March 7, 2003 for $5K. The furniture wasn't delivered until a month after it was supposed to with several calls to the furniture store.

When the set was delivered, the drawers under the bed and dresser drawers were unusable and the wardrobe was very different from what was ordered and almost falling apart. The mattress was also not delivered as promised and they had to give a temporary mattress.

After at least a month of calling and several no shows they fixed the drawers. However the top of both dresser drawers have been broken since it was delivered and after fixing it each time it would break again.

We have asked them to refund our money or fix the furniture and give us a discount. They said someone would return to fix it and no one have showed up since. We sent them a letter in August 2003 and received no response.

We also sent a letter to the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan NY Inc. in September 2003 and have received no response from them either. At the end of September we tried calling the store and they hung the phone up on us. On the second call, after saying our name, the person on the other end asked "why are you calling us" and hung the phone up again.

We would like to get some help in having the store either taking the furniture back with full refund or having us keep the furniture fixing the broken drawers and giving us a refund.
