I responded to a free trial ad box on the internet for 14 day trial of Hoodia Fusion. It was only going to cost me $4.87. I was billed that and then 2 weeks later, still hadn't received my trial, I was billed again for almost $90. All links on the website ended in "error"s and the only number I had to reach them was the one on my bank statement with the charge.
When I called I got an asian girl named "Princess" EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Knew something was hokey with that! She said I accepted the auto shipment when I ordered the free trial and I knew I didn't and argued that. I got the run around and sent it back and finally after about 8 or 9 weeks, did get my money back. This was last fall.
Next phase of the scam: I was just viewing my bank account online on June 30th and low and behold they got me again!!! This time the company listed was CS Center and the charge was from Herbal Savers. When I called them that day they told me they had acquired the other company and had several calls regarding exactly what I was calling for. They said the other company told them that mine and thousands others were all active accounts (I canceled it when I had the issue before as my bank told me to do) and thus I was billed $69.97.
I got a pleasant girl (Amber)the first time and she said I should get a refund in 7-10 days. I called back in 10 days and got a pleasant young man (Cord) who said it would actually take 10-14 days. I called again after 3 weeks and got a rather rude woman (Judy) who said "we don't even HAVE to refund you, we are doing it to be nice" basically, when I expressed my anger at not having my money yet. I informed her that actually they DID have to refund my money if in fact the company they bought ripped me off because they bought all the liabilities as well as the assets of that company. She said she was going to get me a check issued instead and it may take up to 2 weeks.
Well, I called again today, 8/19,it's been 4 weeks since that phone call, and was told that a credit was issued on 8/14. When I asked HOW it was issued she said "it doesn't say". I told her I wanted to talk with someone in charge because I didn't want to yell at her and she put me on hold , then came back and said the man in charge was "really busy with other things" and couldn't talk to me now but if she gave him my info he would look into it. I told her to let him know that if I didn't hear from him tonight that I would be making some OTHER phone calls instead. I was thinking the media and then I found this site. Oh and I still haven't received any kind of product for which I was billed!!!
I'm about to make another attempt at talking with someone there because I KNOW he will not call me back. I am going to my bank tomorrow morning and changing my account and filing a fraud report with them to hopefully get my money back. They weren't too helpful when I told them I didn't authorize this and even told me they couldn't put any kind of flag on my account to avoid it happening again.
