Future link, Inc. contacted me from Monster.com and asked if Id come in to fill out a application for a job opening. I went to the company and filled out the application. The other applicants along with myself were taken into a room and listened to a brief over view of the company that we were to work for. Future Link, Inc is a temporary agentcy. The lady that called me did'nt mention that she was a staffing agency over the phone. They told me how much I would be getting paid and I was shocked that it was only $10.50 per hour, but it was right before christmas and I was desperate for something. I had just gotten laid off from a job making $16.00 an hour, but they didnt care to know what I had made at my previous job, Instead they herded us around like cattle, told us exactly what to say in the interview and what not to say. I was the first one hired. I workd for the company they sent me to for about a week and a half and it wasnt a good fit for me especially at $10.50 per hour. I called the place I was working at to let them know I wouldnt be coming back. That Friday I went to Future Link, Inc. which was the staffing agency that had sent me to the job. I asked for my check and the guy didnt even know I had quit. He was furious and said my check would be mailed to me. I waited and waitd and waited and my check never came. I called him and asked that he re-issue another one and he said no I wont do that.
He said I had to pay him $ 30.00 if I wanted my check to be re-issued to me. Pay him for my pay check? Pay him money when he owed me money?
He said that if I didnt pay him 30.00 That I wouldnt get my check. I never got my check before Christmas and now Im not going to get it at all.

Isnt this illegal?

Not to mention he said that I would be getting paid minimum wage because I quit without giving him notice. I was told, that the last week worked would be at minimum wage if I did not give a two week notice, but now its the entire time I worked.

Can someone really do that? Put you to work and then not pay you?

Id suggest that anyone thinking about going to Future link, Inc, Crum Staffing or working with Mike Addabbo think again. He has ripped me off and has not given it a second thought.

If you are a company thinking about hiring new employees through Future Link, Inc. or Crum Staffing, Id give it a second thought. Do you really want to do business with people like this?

I have included Crum Staffing because they are affiliated with future link, Inc . I believe both companies have the same owner.

Horrible Worker Walks off job- Signed contract- lost check

AUTHOR: Addabbo- Ceo - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 07, 2008

This is in response to the interesting letter written by one Andria Smith of Clearwater, FL.
Andria did work for Future Link for a few days and walked off of the job without letting myself or my client know. When the first paycheck came in (3 days of work) I dropped the check off at my clients site Wednesday along with 5 others that were in her training class.
On Friday of that week, Andria stopped by my office and demanded her check. I was taken back initially because I had confirmed with the security guard the day before that the checks were picked up.

That is when Andria said to me, what you didn't hear that I don't work there no more. I called the client to see what had happened and sure enough, they had sent it in the mail.

When Andria did not receive the check in the mail as she had moved, she came yelling back to us to get her the funds. I work with FrankCrum as my payroll processor and it costs $30.00 to reprint the check and I will not pay for someone who walks off a job, then moves, then does not put a notice to the US Postal service to forward all incoming mail.

In regards to minimum wage, I have a signed document stating that if a Future Link employee does not complete the assignment or fails to give 5 days notice, they will be paid minimum wage for the hours that have not been paid. This was signed by Andria and anyone who is employed by my firm signs the document.

In short, if she was in the right, then she should have taken the case to the Better Business Bureau not this website.

To all interested, the ripped off party is my firm which was unable to bill for her because of our guarantee to the company but yet still had to pay for her to sit in training for 3 days. She knew the pay rate of the position and took the position anyway to waste EVERYONE's time.
