What they pay people starting out should be illegal! Don't know if it gets any better. I didn't stick around long enough. I worked for this company four days, each day was 12 to 13 hours long. Each day would start out with a training on how to do an effective demonstration, then you go through a pep talk and declare your goals for the day. There's  a lot of rah rah, high fives, and sometimes a speech by one of the leaders. After that you split up in teams and drive up to an hour and a half to get to your destination. There you and your team set up a tent and then approach people as they're pumping their gas asking if they know about the promotion.

You get a lot of no's. You're usually there for 8 to 9 hours standing the whole time and dealing with whatever the weather conditions are. They claim you're not selling just demonstrating but it sure seems like selling to me. You tell the customer that the cans normally sell for $35 at Nascar but you're doing a special promotionl for breast cancer research so it's 2 for $25. After you reel them in with the special then you have to rehash to bigger sales.  It was long and exhaustive. You have to compete with the other demonstrators and rated according to your sales. If you have a good day, you're a star.

If you don't do so good the next day, they seem dissappointed. Then there is a long drive back to the office and you don't make it back until 7:30 to 8pm. I got my check for two days of this and it was only $89.44 after taxes, and that was with making sells every day. The second day I made over $200 in sales. He paid me $50 each day  for working a 12 hour day and a 13 hour day  which averages out to around $3 an hour.  The guy who hired me said I did great one day when I got $340 in sales which I made $100 in commission for. Even that doesn't average out to $10 per hour. I know I should have been clear on the pay before I started. I thought I was being paid $50 plus commisions but it's really $50 or commisions, whichever is greater and you have to sell a lot to make more than the $50.  I quit the day I got my first check. Can't afford to give my time away. If you can, more power to you. Personally I'd say just find an hourly wage job.
