GC Services is governed by the Federal Fair Credit reporting Act. To enforce your righhts, here's what you do:

1. Send thema letter telling them not to contact you by telephone - mail only. Send this letter Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested

2. When you get the green card back, hook your telephone to a tape recorder that has a date-and-time stamp embedded (these can be purchased at Radio Shack fairly inexpensively)

3. The next time GC Services calls, slip the date and time of the call into the conversation that you are taping. Have the collector agree that is the date and time.

4. File suit in Federal Court against GC Services for violation of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and claim $1000 Statutory Damages. Sit back and enjoy yourself when they are served with the summons.

You will collect the $1000

Whenever they next call, say "I told you to stop calling" and when they start talking simply hold down the "1" button on your telephone (Hold it away from your ear) this sends a squeal through the lines to their phone.

Do not let the button up untill they hang up.

Repeat as needed, be sure to say EACH TIME "You were told NOT to call"

When they get the message that you will not put up with this harrasment, they'll stop.

The trick here is that after being told DO NOT CALL any calls after that are illegal. They will threaten, but they really have no recourse.

Keep a log of the time of each call, this may be needed to prove harrassment.
