I am writing to dispute a finance charge accrued when G E Money Bank did not post my payment in full during a promotional financing campaign in Jan 07.

On or about 15 December 2006 I called their 800 number to confirm my balance and promotional payoff amount which was due on or about 14 Jan 07. On 29 December 2006 an electronic check from my primary bank was sent to your collection office for the entire balance.

When I received my January 07 statement it did not have the payment and I made an immediate inquiry both with your company and my bank. A check was sent but never presented for payment back to my bank. When I discussed the situation with your customer service rep, the gentleman I spoke with said that they did not post the payment and they have no record of ever receiving it.

I asked to speak with a supervisor and she said that I never sent the payment and that the accrued interest would not be waived. I was very disappointed and disturbed with her tone, accusations and insinuations.

I do not believe her conduct was in the best interest of ANY customer service unit and specifically a loyal customer. I would certainly not tolerate that type of conduct from any of my employees, EVER.

I immediately cancelled payment on the original check and sent another check for the principle amount.

I have all sorts of problems with this report

Before I continue, I know that there are unscrupulous credit card companies that do take advantage of you by not posting a payment in full so that the promotional 0% interest will be charged. I am not doubting that.

However, you say an Electronic check was sent? You can't mail an Electronic Check.

You say you stated that you called them on the 7th, and they told you they won't waive the interest charges, but, you state earlier that the loan wasn't due until the 14th. So you still had 7 more days to pay.

Now, if my check was lost, I would've did a pay by phone right then and there while I still had a week left, instead of sending another check that could get lost in the mail.

Finally... Their website allows you to pay right there online. Why send a check when you can pay online and it is guarenteed to get there immediately?
