I didn't read these or any other reports before I traded my account and purchased a new one from Gamewar.com, but I really wish I would have.

Here is my story.

On Dec 24, 2007, I traded my EQ2 account to Gamewar.com in exchange for an online coupon. I used that coupon to purchase a WoW-Euro account from their site on Dec 26. I finally got the account info on Dec 29 because they said they had to verify the account I was purchasing. When I received the account info, I tried to log in, and found that the username/password were not correct. I notified Gamewar and they said they would look into it. It took until Jan 14, 2008, 21 days from the purchase date, for them to get the account straightened out. The original owner had taken back ownership of the account. Now the account worked, but I needed the account earlier in the month so I could play before being sent overseas (I'm in the Army).

I was able to play the account 3 times before I left, but luckily, our trip was cut short. I returned toward the end of Feb. After coming back, I reopened the account for play, but when I logged in the game, I found out the account had been suspeneded. I contacted Blizzard Entertainment and they told me that the original owner had reported the account information sold to a gaming site. This caused the account to be banned.

I notified Gamewar on March 5th. On the 6th, I received an Email from Mark.

Hi Jason,
I am really sorry that you have been having such a problem with this account purchase. I have sent this to the Accounts Managers, hopefully this will be taken care of for you soon.

Order number: XXXXX - account has been reclaimed/frozen by previous owner
Account Name: xxxxxxxxx
Password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I have requested that they issue a coupon for this problem.

Regards,
Mark

I wrote back twice on the 10th and 12th trying to find out an update. On the 12th, I received this email from Mark.

Hello Jason,
I am sorry that you have not been helped as of yet and have sent your issue to the Accounts Managers again. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
Regards,
Mark

Since that email, there has been NO response from them. Customer Service can only say to send an email. Today is the 31st, and will be 4 weeks tomorrow.

I am not telling anyone NOT to buy from them, but please be aware, you are buying at your own risk.

Employee Update: This Isn't Even A Customer, Purchased From Another Company

AUTHOR: GP Agent - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, September 10, 2011

Hello,

Please note that this issue is related to a GamePal Inc, issue which sold the rights to Gamepal in 2008 and is no longer the owner of this company. However, while we weren't directly involved with this complaint, we will do our best to assist you.

It appears this issue was already resolved as you posted two reports and this one is a duplicate. As pointed out earlier, these sites are owned separately by different individuals.

Since this issue has already been resolved back in 2008, we now consider this matter closed.

A response from Newbville, BUT still a part of their account sharing network?

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 17, 2008

Zeno,

I read your rebuttal, and while it sounds good.....there is a flaw. You say you are no longer affiliated with Gamepal and Gamewar, maybe because they dont exist anymore? You still apparently share the same accounts network that they used. I know this because you are still selling an account I traded them and got exactly ZERO from it.

Other than you saying, and honestly, anything that comes from someone who "once" was affiliated with Gamepal, Gamewar, I find suspicious.

Take it as you may, you may be telling the truth, but with you selling accounts stolen by Gamepal/Gamewar.......I am not buying anything.

J

Gamewar Update (AKA Gamepal, Newbville, Gametag) FRAUD SCAM

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 06, 2008

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE COMPANIES!!!!!! It is a scam, rip-off, fraud!!

In my initial report, I said "buy at your own risk," but now that has to be changed. I have sent 4 more emails this past week, and nothing. Customer Service is a joke because they are just a 3rd party company.

I did a little digging, and there are actually 4 companies that they hide behind. Gamewar, Gamepal, Gametag, and Newbville. There may be more, but those are the ones I have found so far. Here is the FAQ from each company, notice how they are EXACTLY the same.

www.gamewar.com/faq.php

http://www.gamepal.com/content/?page=faq

http://www.gametag.com/faq.php

http://www.newbville.com/faq.php

All of their email addresses are pretty much the same. accounts@(company name).com. So there is no doubt that they are the same.

Why am I adding more after only a week? I can't believe how slow these people are. I am sure they will contact me and tell me it took time for them to get it straightened out, or they didnt see the email. Well, it doesnt take a month to get ANYTHING straightened out, and if they missed all 20 emails I have sent, then someone needs new glasses.

I hope that people read this and choose not to buy anything from them.

If you buy an account from them there is a 90% chance that:
1) It has been or will be taken back by the original owner for various reasons.
2) the companies will not provide you ALL the information on the account and will try to take the account back themselves and put it back up for sale.
3) give you fake/false account information and blame you saying that you changed the account on purpose eventhough they never gave you the correct information.

I have talked to several people over this last week who have been victims of their scam. I hope you all read this and think twice about buying ANYTHING from them.

Hope this helps!!
