our family were planning on buying a Red Fox Lab puppy from breeder, "GARY CAMPBELL" in whom we found online listed with "gundogbreeders.com" going under the name "Midwest Red Labs".I was new at this so as usual, called the guy and he sweet talked me into buying one of his pups. We said to go ahead and put us on the waiting list and a couple of days later...he demanded a deposit of $250 through paypal (in which I still have receipt for). Please note, when he asked for the deposit...the dam was NOT in heat and wasn't going to be for another five months. Not knowing the rules and precautions of buying a pup online, we paid it. Three weeks later, our family got effected by the economy and my husband was laid off. With my husband having to support five children and a wife...a puppy was not feasible at the time. We kindly call Gray Campbell and explained the situation and asked for a refund of our deposit. He said that he doesn't have to refund our money and he'll think about refunding us in the next 6 months. We waited six months and I later emailed Gary and called him regarding the refund, he never replied to neither so I left negative feedback on his profile with gundogbreeders.com He then email me back with an email that was personal attack towards me. I felt the email was very disturbing and uncalled for. This is a copy of what the email I originally wrote and following my message is a copy of his reply: Email I sent: We're coming on Aug. now and I see that there is no refund coming. Just as I thought...you told me what I wanted to hear to get me off of your back. All I can say is that your dishonest, scammer, sneaky and a horrible breeder. I'm so glad I did not buy a puppy from you!! Now that my husband is working again...we are getting a puppy from a better breeder that does not require payment of deposit until puppies are born! The way it should be. No body can predict the future and it the same had happened to you...you would feel as upset as I am! I feel bad for those who have fallen between the cracks and get fooled into buying a puppy from you. Thanks for nothing and I hope that people will see you for the creep you are!!!
The message sent by Gary Campbell after sending him my email you just read above: Lady, I use that term loosely! You are the reason people require a deposit one day you want a pup the next day you don't. I am sorry about your deposit but I have not had another litter of pups yet. You can call me as many names as you want but you need to follow through on business you start. The way I look at it you still owe me  money for a dog you committed to. I am glad your husband is working again that way he can be away from you as much as possible. You are a typical person who wants a dog and I am very glad you did not come up with the money because I would not want one of my quality pups going to a terrible home as yours. The ones I feel the most sorry for is the kids that you have produced. God help them because they need a higher power than you to turn out to be a beneficial person to society. Good luck I hope you get fixed soon. Just so you know...it DOES NOT state anywhere deposits non-refundable on his contact profile and I'm pretty sure good breeders don't ask a customer for a deposit five months in advance before the dam is in heat. Also at the time this letter was sent...he did have a litter of pups available and lied about it. With this being said..he had no problem informing me that he was keeping a male and female out of his upcoming litter for breeding (hes breeding siblings) when I first spoke with him on the phone. Hes a scammer, lair and has no problem stealing money from customers. Things in life can happen unexpectedly and we have no control over it. Needless to say, my husband has returned to work and we decided to get the pup we've long waited for. We found a wonderful breeder online under the name (((competitor's name redacted))) and they've been amazing!! With (((redacted)))...you are required to be approved from her puppy questionnaire (Gary Campbell was a customer that wanted a pup from them and he was denied because he wanted a pup for all the wrong reasons) I really liked (((redacted))) because they DO NOT ask for a deposit til the pups are born and only requires you to pay $50. Needless to say. we've had an amazing experience with (((redacted))) and we now own a beautiful healthy AKC registered Red Fox Lab. She is our pride and joy and she means the world to us. Even though this experience with Gary Campbell was unpleasant...I'm glad it didn't work out cause I wouldn't have met (((redacted))) if it had. Plus I've found from documents and word of mouth and personal conversations with Gary Campbell that he's been lying about what he breeds and its wrong what he's doing. I feel bad for those who are fooled into buying one of his puppies. I really wanted to get this out to those who are wanting to buy a puppy in the near future to NOT make the same mistake I made. Really do your research before buying a puppy and don't be afraid to ask the breeder about pedigrees, health papers, shot records, licenses and so on. Its better to be safe and get the puppy you've been waiting for. I highly recommend (((competitor's name redacted))) if you are wanting a pure bred Red Fox Lab. They have proved themselves as a great breeders for years and have had many happy customers. Her website shows proof from past customers along with pictures of my little princess. Just be careful and make your puppy purchase an pleasant experience.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, Breeders like Gary Campbell need to be stopped! Let the professionals bred, not some redneck hillbilly trying to make a profit off an animal. Animals should be respected by their owners and be loved as if he or she were your own child.  sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
