Gas Mart #6(Sunoco) Bad tank of gas Winchester Virginia

On 11-13-07,I purchased $25 of gas and I never even made it off the lot before the check engine light came on & my car shut off! Of course the man inside tried to tell me it was my car & that his gas was fine,the only problem to his theory was that it is a '06 KIA Sorento with less than 17,000 miles on it.

The man didn't even want to give me a receipt but I made him write me one in case the inevitable happened. I had to get a tow($40)to the KIA dealer/garage and they had to dismantle & flush my entire fuel system($483.89)

There was more sediment than liquid in the sample the dealer gave me and it smells more of diesel fuel than gasoline. The garage advisor also told me that there was no way my car could have had that much dirt in the tank & run.

On the 15th I called the main Gas-Mart in Leesburg,VA & after the run around all day,he tells me once again there had to be dirt in my tank before & that their gas just "stirred it up." On the 16th,I called Sunoco and was told that their insurance company would investigate my claim,(which I promptly got a letter from ESIS)but right now I am out $548.89 & it can take up to 30 days for them to make up their minds!

I also just found out this morning that my fuel pump will also have to be replaced because all of the dirt messed up the pressure in it,Heaven only knows how much more this is going to cost me & it has to be right around the holidays as if money wasn't tight enough.

I just can't understand why Gas-Mart is giving me the run around and not standing behind their product.
