Gate Serve/ Gate Gourmet Deceived from day one! Chicago Illinois

I am presently working for this company. The day I was accepted for the job I was told they needed drivers for Gate Gourmet So I continued the strict security process. The day I came in for orientation I was told to sign papers and at that time I heard the name Gate Serve. I was going to be working for them and not Gate Gourmet. After a week or two on the job I found out that all the information I was given about benefits and vacations did not apply any longer. In a job where we work in a dangerous environment and constantly in the weather elements employees need sick days and paid time off. But not according to Gate Serve. We have nothing. So we are forced to call off with out pay or go to work sick. So it was the old bate and switch. I found out we had a union shortly after I started. So now the employees thought somethings would get better. Well I have worked there long enough to tell you. We work eight and a half hours and many days with no lunch breaks. The company takes it out of our pay every week knowly that we do not have a lunch time. I can say that because it has been brought to the attention of the union since April 2009 and again July16 2009. Still waiting for results. We are often understaffed and under constant pressure to get the job done with the little amount of a work force. Many times the employees have had delays, accidents rushing only to be written up or fired if the employee receives too many. With the hazards of the runway and the stress of trying to get the job done. It seems as though the company can do what they please and we are stuck in a no win situation and no help insight.
