I purchased a Gateway computer system through HSN for Christmas. this was my first Gateway and will be my last. The monitor which came with the system was suppose to be "top of the line". The one which swivels from horizontial to vertical. I have had monitor problems from day one. Each time I contacted their Tech support, I always felt that I did not get good customer service.

After the one year warranty expired, my $500.00 monitor died. Their so so customer service died with it, because the next couple of calls to the tech support resulted in rude, could care less attitudes. I found out through many forums that my monitor has an internal power supply defect which I'm positive Gateway knew all about it. This power supply defect does not rise it's ugly head until after the one year warranty expires.

Despite this defect, Gateway's only recourse to you is to offer to sell you another monitor, at full price of course. Forget about them repairing the monitor because "they do not repair desktop monitors only laptop". This is a BIG ripoff!.

I'm writing the corporate office, but from the many postings here, I feel my letters will go unanswered. But I will try. This company obviously doesn't understand what good customer service is and it has lost me forever. I will never by a Gateway again and I am warning everybody I could to not fall victim to this company! From this site alone, I believe a class action suit is needed. They are building defective products, they are aware of it and they are doing nothing but ripping consumers off!
