Gateway Computers Extended service plan not honored, support non-existant North Sioux City South Dakota

In November 2003 I purchased a Gateway notebook 450 XL, with an extended service plan:Value Plus Service Plan-3 yr Part/Labor/Onsite/3 year technical support. My first inkling that there was a problem was when the terms of the service plan CHANGED on their site to a one (1) year plan. I was checking on an upgrade and emailed to notify them that something was awry. The terms changed back to the 3 year plan. I checked the site this month to see what updates there were to my Gateway Hardware and downloaded and installed those that Gateway said were needed by my notebook. My notebook went haywire and began acting erratic and stating that I had run out of hardrive space. I knew this was impossible and contacted Gateway support. I check and on the Gateway support site my computer is now listed as a 450ROG instead of the 450XL. Their answer is that my hardrive may be going but that they want to reformat my hardrive. I deferred as I felt a smiggen of diagnostic work should be performed and asked to speak to a supervisor and she reiterated that a reformatting is how they handle these types of problems. The supervisor then told me that I should bring my computer offsite for repair help. I paid several hundred dollars for an EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN that included parts/labor/onsite/technical support and have received anyhting but. Gateway has changed the listing on my computer warranty and notebook model. I would not recommend them for anything, even their miniature mouse is problematic.
