Gateway Energy promised a low rate for heat and electric. They said that I could stay with PSE&G and I would be locked in at a low rate. I didn't see a difference in my bill until this past month. It was much higher than I've ever seen it before. I researched their company and all I see are scam posts upon scam posts. Immediately, I contacted PSE&G and explained my dissatisfaction and told them that I wanted to cancel with Gateway Energy. The customer service rep told me that he will cancel Gateway and put service back the way that it was initially.
I feel ripped off and deceived. How can a company raise rates to absurdity?! I am beside myself.

As such, when the wholesale price to them skyrockets like it has recently, the cost is passed along to their customers.
Check the complaints for at least a dozen other energy companies here on ripoff report. They are all being accused of fraud, deceit, price gouging and not caring. You can decide for yourself why the rates shot up.
