I had the pleasure of accompanying a friend who visited Gateway MHP recently. My friend had full intention of purchasing the home he found online and had brought enough cash to purchase it or any other home he liked in the park. When we were met by the park sales person Doyce Mathis, his first comment was "exactly how many people are planning to live here". I immediately said all of us and there's 4 more on the way. He found as much humor in my comment as did we at his. He showed the home, which had new improperly installed buckling laminate flooring throughout. He advised that the Laminate would lay down once the A/C was on. Once the tour was over my friend told Mr Mathis he had two other homes he was going to view in Park Royale and then he would make up his mind on which he would buy. Mathis then told him that he had come in on the weekend just to show him the home and was upset he wasn't ready to buy it right then. I'm so sorry it was such an inconvenience for Mathis to travel so far, when we had just driven from Atlanta Georgia to look at the homes. Mathis then stormed past everyone saying nothing and sped off in his car. He was however nice enough to send an email to my friend today saying that he was no longer approved for the park and that his "Joke of a family" and him were rude (REALLY)! No worries GATEWAY MHP and Mr. Mathis, he found a much larger home with all upgrades, including properly installed Laminate for slightly more money (Which wasn't a problem either way) in the 5 STAR community of Park Royale, where he was pleasantly greeted as were we all. Thank you for making his decision so much easier as he closes on the home in two weeks. I also was looking at homes to purchase in the near future as me and my wife are also planning on moving back to Florida from Georgia. One thing for sure is GATEWAY can count me out as well.
