Gateway Ripoff Is A Nightmare Lavergne Tennessee

I ordered a Gateway PC which took over 3 weeks to get here-right out of the box it was defective. I had no sound (tried several sets of speakers) I could not send mail-could not get on the internet without dozens of restarts as the browser would freeze or not respond at all. I spent hours on the phone with tech support-all this troubleshooting 30+ hours of my time wasted, including meeting a tech for 2 hours at the house on a workday to replace the entire motherboard-I am not a novice user-this pc was defective. after 3 weeks of no internet access etc-they finally agreed to replace the pc. The 2nd one I got was exactly the same-defective-calls were not returned-for days to set up a return on the 1st one-then I get a bill because Fed Ex return took so lone to set up. The 2nd PC-browser don't work (vista was alot of this)-after 9 weeks of hell I ordered a Dell PC-it arrived in 3 days-ssame speakers & all work with the Dell. Gateway refuses to credit me or accept a return-says my 15 days are up-AS THEY GO BY THE DATE OF THE FIRST DEFECTIVE PC? The 2nd PC is 3 days old. They want to troubleshoot it? want me to send it in for service-right out of the box-buy a soundcard-reload the system I paid for return shipping myself as my credit card is disputing the charge-and advised returning it. If not for paying with a credit card I'd be out of almost $600 on this piece of junk! (my first gateway 6 years ago was apleasant experience-a good pc) I wish I'd never heard of them-rude-act like it's your fault-just don't care. Steer clear of gateway unless you have alot of $ to waste-and time and frustration-and don't need internet access. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!
