This company has made hundreds of calls to my work phone, constantly harassing me. I lost my job and got behind on my Citibank account. Citibank turned me to collections even after I had made arrangements to catch the past due payments up.

I immediately sent the amount to catch up the past due payments ($1650). They sent me another letter asking me to make payment arrangements. I filled it out, stating that I would pay $1000 per month to pay off the debt owed.

Apparently this wasn't good enough because the calls kept coming. I told the callers that I'd already sent $1650 and made payment arrangements on the remainder. They claimed they had no record of my payment arrangement and told me that if I didn't pay the balance immediately, they would sue me.

After they had talked to me dozens of times and received more payments from me, they called my mother's home, telling her it was extremely important that they get ahold of me and that it was an emergency. My mother was scared to death something horrible had happened.

The calls continue. I continue to be threatened with legal action, even after making the $1000-per-month payments as promised. The last call I got, the guy quoted my balance to be over $3,000 what it should currently be.

I sent a certified letter asking them to stop calling and make any further communication with me in writing with a copy of the original payment arrangement agreement I had filled out. The calls continue. The threats continue. They tell me to go borrow the money from family. I'm making $1000-per-month payments! I've shown extreme good faith and don't deserve to be treated this way.

They've even sent me offers to settle, but I've turned them down, as I acknowledge that I owe the debt and fully intend on paying it as I agreed to do.

I wish the company would train their workers better. Stop hiring any Joe Blow off the street to perform collections duties. You'll get a lot more out of people when you work with them.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

record the calls and contact the state attorney general office

AUTHOR: Jeff - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 05, 2007

I suggest you go down to your local radio shack and pickup a device to plug into your phone line and record the calls.

You need to document the calls.

I would also provide documentation to the attorney general of your state. In other words file a complaint. I would also file a Federal Trade Commission complaint.

Steve from Florida this person needs your help!!!!!

Good Luck
