Simply put, the Belk Credit card owned by Ge Money bank is one of the worst store credit cards I ever had. I went into the store in December as usual to pay my bill with cash, and had not received a bill. I have always heard they will and do double-cycle interest payments. The cashiers there said I had no account they could find. I had cut up my Belk card before and did not want to use it for obvious reasons. They said also my phone number did not work in their system.

GEMB called me and hung up on my phone about 10 days before Christmas. I called them back, got a fairly decent representative on the phone, and made a check payment by phone. They removed a late fee, and charged me nothing for paying it. I owed about 14 dollars for the next month they said.

After Christmas, I began to get repeated phone calls about 8 a.m. till about 10, and no message on the machine. I work retail nights in a grocery store, and lost sleep. Finally I answered the call and a horrible woman rep with a threatening tone told me that there was no phone payment and that my account number given was wrong. This made no sense to me but I told her what I knew I had paid. She was so rude I finally hung up on her.

I called my bank and they said GEMB had taken nothing out of my account. I got a bill for over $90 and a late fee and am sick of GE Money Bank. I believe firmly that they only want to charge late fees after a certain amount of time and will do ANYTHING to get a bigger bill. I am going to write out the payment amount due, with my new bill, and pay it in the store, after I've copied it. After this, I will NOT shop in Belk again, and call a lawyer if nothing else works.

GE Money Bank Belks is in no way worth a cent.
