Unknown to me, I have been added as a joint responsible party for my son's account at GE Money Bank. I NEVER gave authorization, verbal or written, nor did I ever sign or receive any paperwork stating such. Now I find out that they are reporting me as having bad credit because of delinquent payments owed on this account. I've tried to resolve this, and keep getting a run around. I've written to their customer service in El Paso, TX, as well as have filed a complaint with the FTC, and atorney general.

...Your Son, not the FTC or Attorney General.
GE is not just going to randomly add someone to an account, they got your name somehow. The question is how?
Creditors are really cracking down on Identity Theft and Fraud. If your Son put your information on the credit application then he commited fraud. In this case you have a couple of tough choices. To accept this "fraud" and work with them to get the account paid off as well as accepting all negative information. Or to report the fraud where you will no longer be responsible for the debt or the negative information. However, once you report the fraud what happens to your son is out of your hands, because you are no longer "damaged". If they decide to pursue fraud charges against him, you can not stop them. As I said these are TOUGH choices, and if this is the case it is one that your Son put you in the position to make.
If your Son says he never added you to the account then you need to get the information from GEMB. If it does not show you on the account then they need to remove it. But if your information is on there then you have to go back to your Son, again they are not just going to randomly add information.
One other item is that if your Son also knows nothing about this account at all. In that he didn't even open it up then both of you need to dispute it and report it as fraud.
Good Luck.

You need to dispute the erroneous entries with the credit reporting agencies. GE will be required to show proof that you actually signed on for this debt.
Have you asked your son about this? Is it possible that he added you to his application without your knowlege? The reason I ask is that if he did do this, then GE could go after him for fraud.
