Bought a computer from circuit city 3 years ago. Got the 2nd best hp they had. SPent almost two grand on it.....including the 360 some dollar warranty. Specifically asked if it was a bring it in when broke for any reason kind of warranty deal. "oh yes sir", we'll just replace it if it ever dies, "for any reason".

After 3 years of no probs, it got electrically blasted. Called up the store. they said to call g.e. called g.e. set an appointment for a repair visit (that i'd have to take off work to make. A week later "ed" the rhinestone cowboy showed up to fix the hp. He didn't have anything to fix it with, so he ordered a part, "it'll take a week to come in". Part shows up.

"well, that wasn't it i guess". we'll try another, "it'll be another week". So, now (another day off work -200$)and still no fix. This went on SIX different visits!!! He replaced each part one at a time. after all this found out the modem was blowing up almost everything he put in new.

The last trip, it appeared as if it was fixed. but it didn't sound as if it was. it made some really neat new noises, that i'm sure computers aren't supposed to make! " electronic stuff does that till it breaks in", and out the door he went.

This took place with several calls to complain following, and taking the hp to the store and demanding attention to the matter after 60 some days now. of course the manager was not there, so "come back monday". the manager called g.e. for the 2nd time, and convinced them to finally replace the computer. in the mean time i had called the store a few times, asking about they're warranty terms. i recorded a conversation with the sales person..." if we can't fix it in 7 days, WE WILL REPLACE IT". yeah right! that was why i spent almost 400$ on the warranty in the first place.

So after a week of wondering when this might take place, they finally say they will ship one. on the day they said it would be here...it wasn't. so i call and they say they aren't shipping one now@! after another trip to the store , they call back a few days later and say they'll ship a replacement again. Finally, it shows up. i unbox it, hook it up, and nothing?? but a rattle noise.

i take it to the store, and they determine it was damaged in shipping or something. i was so pissed off at this point, i considered throwing it in the store through the window. but i just left it they're and said fix it NOW>.

after about a week, and G.e. saying they have nothing to do with the repair of the replacement, i have to deal with h/p for the repair of this one now! and of course, they have no clue how i even ended up with the computer from them.

they shipped one "next day air", and 3 days later it showed up!!! it actually worked, BUT it really didn't matter any longer, because in the mean while i went and got a GATEWAY!!!
