Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

I have been paying for my Geek Squad insurance for a long time now. It was being charged to a credit card that I have scheduled for automatic payments each month. I didn't notice the measly $9 or $10 that I wasn't being charged for the last 6 months. When it comes to a credit card I use regularly for all purchases, that is a very small amount of money to me. I didn't happen to notice that they stopped charging me for my insurance months ago. My credit card company sent me a new card, I was under the impression the card number was still the same number. I honestly never thought about it.

My phone broke the other day. It completely shattered. Unaware that I didn't have insurance on my phone I went to BestBuy, stood on their ridiculously long Geek Squad line and waited. I finally got to the counter and they said that I didn't have insurance. They called and spoke to someone in the corporate office and they said they will get it straightened out if I made the payments for the last 5 or 6 months, I had absolutely no problem with that. The rep then said I would have to call and speak to them myself to get it worked out.

While the "geek" was on the phone with their rep I had him ask why I wasn't contacted about this and they said they emailed me. I asked what the email address they had on file for me was, and they told me some address that I cannot even begin to understand what hat they pulled that out of because never have I heard of it in my entire life. I gave them my actual email which I have been using for years now and definitely gave to them when signing up.

The next day I called Geek Squad. They told me that because it has been over 5 months that they cannot reinstate my policy. I work in insurance and I understand that when payments aren't made you get canceled. However, the company that you have a policy with would always send a cancelation notice. Perhaps by email, but they will ALWAYS mail you a letter to have in your hands, and then perhaps along with that email. Usually if there isn't a response they will send more than one. There is no reason at all why I should not have been contacted about this. They have my address and of course they have my phone number.

They then asked me who the other person is that I have on my account. Again, I have absolutely no idea what hat they pulled this name out of, and I told them I have no idea. Where and why do they have completely wrong information on file for me, and where did they get it from? I honestly believe that this mystery person is probably the one they contacted if they tried at all. The email and name they said to me I believe were Spanish names and in no way does my name even come close to resembling a Spanish name.

I asked what email address they sent these letters to, and since I gave them my email the day before they said they emailed them to me. That was a complete lie. There is no way they sent an email to that address that I monitor so frequently. I asked them to read me the email they sent it to (that I gave them the day before to take the place of the email that I have no idea where they got it from) and they told me my email address perfectly. So why did I not receive anything from this company regarding my insurance? With 3 means of contact information I should have been made aware of cancelation.

I get that I wasn't completely on top of making sure my phone insurance is always up to date. But, I am a busy person, and when it comes to something so small it’s the furthest thing from my mind. This company needs to realize that people are not watching their cell phone insurance like dogs. It's $10 a month, not $500. They refused to reinstate my policy, and didn't do anything to help me out. They took no blame for having all of this inaccurate information on file, and for not making me aware of cancellation.

If this company is going to consider them a player in the insurance world, they need to get their act together. I don’t care if it is only phone insurance. Their job is to help and protect people when an accident occurs. Internally they need to do some work on being able to keep track of their clients and making sure they’re up to date. In fact, especially because it is phone insurance. The payments are next to nothing, and I had no idea that I wasn’t being charged. For the long time that I was being charged, I feel as if I had given them that money for absolutely no reason. The reason you get insurance is because accidents happen. They need to figure something out, because I am not a happy customer.

I didn't waste my time. I was given back my insurance, and got a new phone for free. Also, if you weren't so caught up on the small details and trying to assume everyone in the world is a greedy d********, you would have read that for some reason there was inaccurate information in numerous parts on my account with incorrect names, email addresses, phone numbers, etc.

And when it comes to wasting time, I think you need to look in the mirror buddy because you are arguing with a person in a case where you have absolutely nothing to do with. So who is the loser? Not me, I can guarantee you that. I suggest you find something better to do with your time rather than arguing with people over the internet. At least my according to you my "wasted time" got me what I intended to aquire. I hope you achieved the satisfaction you were looking for.

Oh and it's people like you that make me want to take a dump in my hand and walk up to a miserable stranger and just rub it all over there face. Mind your own business.

THEY did their part. YOU failed them, NOT the other way around. THEY sent to the email THEY had on file. THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!! YOU did not stay on top of your payments.......PERIOD!!!!!!!! That is all this is. YOU getting online and blasting THEM because YOU were the deadbeat. Isnt America grand. Any moron with a smart phone and a grudge can spin THEIR story to make someone out to be the bad guy.

Get over it LOSER!!!! YOU broke your phone. YOU did not make payments. YOU get to pay FULL PRICE for a new one. You are expecting them to take responsabilty for EVERYTHING that was YOUR FAULT!!! Its not going to heppen and you REALLY need to learn HOW to be an adult. Maturity should be the first think on your to do list.

But, I am a busy person, and when it comes to something so small it’s the furthest thing from my mind......THIS IS NOT A GOOD EXCUSE!! And it is certainly NOT a legal reason for them to take responsability for YOUR short commings in life. OH...You are SOOOOOOOOOOO busy. Ok we get it, youre just like EVERYONE else out there. You have a life and a job and a family ect ect ect adnausium. It STILL doesnt change the FACT that YOU DID NOT PAY!!!!!! You "CLAIM" to work in the insurance industry. You know what you sound like riiiiiiiiight????? Another WHINEY LITTLE DEADBEAT who did not make their payments and expects the rest of the world to bail them out of a situation of their own doing. You know, the VERY same people YOU have to work with DAILY!!!!! Must be nice to know that you WERE one of those people who WASNT one of THOSE people. But NOW you are.

Sorry but YOU didn't pay your insurance and it gets cancelled. THAT is the way of the world. YOU KNOW THIS!!!! So your report is ONLY being made for its "shock" value. There IS NO RIPOFF HERE!!!! YOU just didn't pay your insurance and THAT is all. This entire situation IS NOT their fault. There are MILLIONS of devices, tablets, laptops ect. It is unreasonable of YOU to expect the same courtesies you receive in the auto/home/life business. Ok we get it. YOU broke YOUR phone, and YOU assumed that YOU had insurance on it still. When it is found out that YOU did not pay YOUR insurance, then automatically THEY are the bad guys. Im betting that your insurance didn't get paid BECAUSE you changed YOUR card. That would make it 100% your fault for not changing the information with the assorted businesses that you have on auto pay. You CLAIM your a very busy person, yet you are NOT so busy that you couldn't make what is basically a FALSE ripoff report. The same time and energy that you put into writing, you COULD have put into contacting those businesses you have auto pay with. Get over it...YOU are the issue here. YOU needed a new card. YOU did not contact THEM when you received this new card. That makes all of this YOUR FAULT!! Stop deflecting the responsibility off of yourself. ITS NOT WORKING!!! Your own post damns you. And as someone who has had to deal with a VERY similar situation, I can tell you that they don't JUST cancel. As long as they can take a payment then YOU will have insurance. So this entire issues is your doing because YOU did not contact them and update YOUR CARD INFORMATION!!!! So explain to the entire web again how EXACTLY this is ALL their fault?????

I don't expect a retraction, people like YOU refuse to see when it IS your fault. Its ALWAYS someone elses responsibility. YOU are NOT so perfect that you cant make a mistake, and that is what happened here. YOU made the mistake of ASSUMING the number was the same, yet as an adult YOU should know better as this isn't the first card YOU have replaced. When you cant get yourself a NEW TOY FOR FREE, you turn the situation around on THEM, THEN you use the web to spread your particular brand of BS. When are people LIKE YOU going to accept the FACT that YOU are the ones screwing YOU over?? You don't need anyone else to do it for you, your doing an excellent job by yourself. FYI: I bet YOU forgot your spam filter didn't you.
