I wish I had driven without insurance than had GEICO. WORST customer service I have ever received. All they do is apologize and never do anything to rectify the situation. I changed my name, told them it was due to divorce (never let them know you get divorced, its an extra $50+a month) was called a useless driver, when I cancelled my policy after
finding out about my rate increase I was sent a bill of $46.02. I have to explain everything to multiple reps and supervisors, keep getting apologized to and telling them that the claims adjustors directly lied to me!!! I had my 3rd or so claims adjustor for my accident tell me that shes already seen the police report and I was completely at fault for the accident (the 2 guys that caused the accident were dead and I dented the bumper in front of me less than 1/2? after the initial accident) a
week later a receive a call from my 4th claims adjuster stating GEICO had just received the police report and was going to review it ASAP. (insurance did not raise with the accident, rate was the same for the month after the accident before I informed them of the name change.

I would advise you to choose any company BUT GEICO. They couldnt pay me to come back. I waited 6 days for a supervisor call back that noted  for any reason to be contacted if I call in, and they are still unavailable. I couldnt count how many times I've called about this situation, no less than once a week since I cancelled 4 months ago.

Single vs. Married Rate

AUTHOR: Ed - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, April 16, 2012

I work for GEICO, and occasionally I'll receive a complaint from someone whose rate increased because they got divorced.  Funny thing is, I never ever get complaints from people whose rate decreased because they recently got married.

Your rate went up because you went from getting a Married rate discount to a single rate. Every insurance company does this. Im sure it wasnt $50 a month difference but a pro-rata amount.

Same when you cancelled it, you had a bill for earned premium, the time from when you cancelled to where you were paid up to. Its called an equity date, just because you pay a bill on a certian time doesnt mean you paid for that time, just a date along the policy period that insurance uses for these situations, if a credit (refund) is due or a Earned premium (Balance due).

You are all over the place on your posting.

You first complain about their rates and how you canceled them, then you go on complaining about their claims adjuster.  You then say that in this accident two people died, but you only hit the car and dented your bumper 1/2".  You then for some reason had to go through 4 Claims Adjusters.

I think the accident actually happened first, so not really sure why you led with canceling because I think a double-fatality accident would be a little worse.

In your title you also claim that the police report lied, so what did the police report say, and how exactly did Geico falsify information?
