In 2001 my father purchased 2 Pontiac Grand Am's for my sister and myself. Her's is a 2000 & mine is a 2001. About 6 months after purchasing these, things started going wrong. Keep in mind they only had 29,000 on each of them at the time of purchase.

So unfortunately by the time these things started going bad, the remainder of the warranty had expired. My sister's brakes had went out and we had them fixed. No big deal, or so we thought. Well here it is 4 years later and she has put 7 sets of brakes on this car. Then her fuel pump went out, costing $700 to fix. Then her electric windows began not rolling down & her blinkers wouldnt work.

Ok, then there's my car. The first thing to go out was my fuel pump, $700. Then, my blinkers wouldnt work, then my computer went out, the water pump and brakes have also been replaced. Now, Ive only had my brakes replaced once, so it was just normal to do that. Upon calling GM I found out my car was under recall for the blinkers, it was a bad switch or something, but upon explaining to them that her car did the same exact thing, their reply was "her's isnt under recall." Strange that we have the same cars, and weve both had fuel pumps & blinker problems.

I called GM on many occasions, and emailed them to try for a remedy. I finally got a response from them stating they would no longer reply to any of our complaints. It's more than coincidence that we have the same make and model of cars with the exact same problems, but it's "the way we drive the cars." Im sorry but we drive like everyone else. One foot on the pedal and two hands on the wheel. I will never in my life buy another GM product. And every single time I go to have a repair made, or see someone looking at a GM I make sure and tell them what kind of vehicles these are. Poor quality, high priced, junk.

Ever do a car owner's history? I'm just curious. GM has really gone into the shitter as far as quality. Same problems over and over.

GM customer service is an outsource company

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 16, 2006

TO ALL GM CONSUMERS:

When you call the GM Customer Service number, you are NOT speaking directly to a GM employee. You are speaking to a subcontracted customer dis-service (haha) company (Sitel or Convergys) that handles GM consumer issues. DO NOT BE FOOLED. They will mislead you and tell you they are employed by GM. Ask them this direct question: Are you employed by an outsourcing agency? They will either not answer your question, or tell you that it is not relevant. Like HELL it isn't relevant. They admittedly are not mechanically or technically educated. How can they make a fair decision concerning your vehicle? Call them back if you have already spoken to a GM customer assistance center and they will prove my claim. No wonder we can't get our issues resolved. What a cheap and deceptive method to avoid dealing directly with customers. We will post any results or discoveries as we learn them. Sincerely, Paul and Linda at shameongm@hotmail.com We've had 3 intake manifold gasket leaks within 40K miles.
