I applied for a loan via lendingtree.com about 4 months ago. 3 months ago there was a deposit into my account in the ammount of 300.00$ I did not approve any loan I did not give this company(Geneva Roth Capital) my social security or banking information and when I called 1 of there 3 different numbers they told me that they could not take this money back and that I would have to make the payments to fulfill this loan. When I asked how they obtained my information they told me that they did not have to give me this information. When I told them that I would stop payment on this fraudulent loan they told me that they have my social security number and can debit any one of my credit card accounts or my savings account. To date I have made 7 payments of 90.00(630.00) of the original 300.00 that was put into my account. I have had my checking account changed now and again they direct debited my account. I also just recieved another e-mail from them saying that they are about to debit another 90.00 from my account.

Loan Point USA, using phony lawyers to scare people out of their money!

AUTHOR: Gwen - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, April 28, 2012

I, too have been victimized by this company. I applied for and obtained a loan from them for $300 in October of 2008. However, due to an attempted unauthorized debit, my bank close my account and opened a new on for me. i contacted Loan Point to inform them of this and gave them the new checking account number to debit the payments. I received a response from the company that they received my inquiry and that the information would be adjusted. Despite this, they tried to debit the money from my old account twice and charged me $90 each time. The $300 loan now went to $570. Someone from the company pretending to be from the legal dept. called to say that had the right to charge me the extra $180 because I never informed them of the change. I asked them how they could say that when I have two email from them stating they got the new information and would adjust it accordingly. He then yelled at me after I stated that would pay back the loan when they provided me with an address to send the money and hung up. I din't hear anything else from them until two years later in 2010, stating the same thing. Again, I told them that I had always stated that I would pay the money and had no problem doing so and tnhat they were the ones holding up their payment by not providing me with an address. He said they would not give me an address and if I don't have a checking account, find someone that does, deposit the money in their account and give him the routing number and account number. I told them that they were crazy and that I had been given legal advice to pay the money by money order to the company's address. He screamed obscenities at me and hung up. I heard no more from them.

A few days ago I got call from a David West, purporting to be a process server, saying that my name and socal security number had been used in a check fraud case and that i had to call the number he left or I would be taken to court. I called the number and lo and behold, they claimed they were from the law office of Wyman and Foster and that they were attorneys for Loan Point. They demanded that I pay the $570 by the end of the day or they would see me in court. I told them I would call back. Then I Googled their name and phone number on the internet and found all kinds of complaints against them. These people are scam artists. Unfiortunately I found out too late because I did give them $100, thinking they were legit because they had all my correct information. I've since contacted my bank, who closed out my old card and issued a new one. I have reported the incident to my local police department, the BBB, and the NY state attorney general's office. The more people that report these incidents, the tougher it will be for them to operate and hopefull one day, they will get caught.

My apologies, I never signed a contract...

I noticed that I accidentally put in that I signed with this company...I had just worked an early shift and was really tired. I never signed with this company to authorize funds into my account or to take payments out. I am still really tempted to contact the FBI about this case if it does not get resolved through the department of finances and Attorney General's office.

I am having trouble with this company, too.

AUTHOR: Nmchandler - (U.S.A.)

Hi. I have had trouble with this company too. I am waiting to receive my bank statements from the account that had money taken out with this company. I signed a contract with this company and when contacting them in regards to ANY contract, they completely ignore me. I refuse to even call the company to talk to someone because I have been given the run-around, and that is bad news. I have a written complaint written out and when I do get my statements I will add in the specific dates that the money was deposited and taken out of my account. I then will send my complaint to the Idaho department of finances and the attorney general's office of Idaho, Kansas and Utah. I live in Idaho, by the way.

I have already contacted the Better Business Bureau and Geneva Roth has not responded to my complaint through them. Please let me know what happens with your dilemma. I am really interested.

New withdrawl...

POSTED: Thursday, December 20, 2007

Well after closing my account 2 times now and placing a hold on anything Geneva Roth I have now been debited again by this bs company.

How did they do it??? Well they changed their name and debited amount. They used the name GRC FUNDING PAYMENT (GRC obviously Geneva Roth Capital) and they debited 89.99. This action alone is intended to trick the bank that I use as well as me. I have hired a lawyer and will pursue this to the fullest extent. If anybody else has been defrauded by Geneva Roth post here and I will give you all the info that I have.
