I purchased this warranty on my truck in Dec. 2009 for $3600.00. The term was 5 years/Unlimited mileage. This summer I had to move my 79 year old Aunt from California to Missouri to live with my parents because of health issues. I had to drive my truck to bring her belongings. Before leaving Las Vegas(my home) I took the truck to my mechanic for an overall inspection to make sure there were no problems.

I drove to Missouri without incident, but upon arrival noticed an unusual hum from my rear differential. I took it to a local certified shop & they diagnosed that the pinion bearing had disintigrated & sent metal shavings thruout my rearend. A complete rebuild was required. The estimate was $3100.00. Upon submiting the paperwork to GWS, they refused to do anything without my "service history" on the truck. I explained that I had all that at home in my files 1500 miles away & had no way of getting it until I could return home. Mr. Larry Talbot(General Manager) absolutely refused to help me in any way, was extremely rude & disrespectful, cursed me out & called me names like "jackass" over the phone & then hung up on me & refused to answer or respond to any further calls. I even explained to him that it was imperative for me to get home or I was going to lose my job. He expressed that was my problem, not his.

I had no alternative but to seek out another solution. With the help of the shop, Scott's Auto Express in Blue Springs, Mo., we found a junkyard rearend in Oklahoma & had it shipped. Scott's installed it, (with no warranty because it was used)at a cost of $1970.33. I did'nt have that much money, only enough for gas & food on the trip home, so I had to borrow it from my Dad. The entire ordeal forced me to stay 7 days beyond my original return date, which put my job in jeopardy. Thanks to my family I made it home the night before my job started. Scott"s said that this was the most difficult warranty company that they had ever dealt with.

Upon returning home I pulled my service history from my files & faxed 14 pages of documents, service records & receipts to GWS in the hopes that I could repay my Dad asap because he has cancer, my Mom has Alzhiemers, & they need that money for their medicine & healthcare. I wrote all of this in a letter so GWS could understand the urgency & refund  the cost of the repair. Nearly a month goes by with no response, so I call again. I spoke with Jim Mcniel(claims manager) & he said that he was authorized to offer me $800.00, take it or leave it. When I started to ask why only $800.00 He simply said "I am not going to argue with you" & hung up on me. All my phone calls/messages since have been completly ignored. The truly absurd thing is that the very last sentence in their "welcome" letter to me says "Like a close friend, our goal is to be there when you need us most." With friends like that, who needs enemies?!?!

I have now filed a complaint with the Nevada Dept. of Insurance for fraud & am awaiting some response from them. It looks as though my only recourse may be to sue in small claims court, & even though I'm sure I would win the judgement, the chances of me ever getting any money back from these predators is very slim. Therefore my goal is to get the word out to as many as possible so that no one else gets taken advantage of.
