Georgia Power sent me a letter stating I will be billed $150 deposit because of a past due bill. When I called customer service, a supervisor told me "we dont mention deposits unless the customer mentions it". The bill DOES state they MAY charge a deposit for late payments however, no amount is stated on the bill. They can not provide me with any proof of how much I was warned i would have to pay. They are creating a ficticious deposit amount and it is invalid.

This company has deceptive vague business practices and does NOT care about the consumer. They do NOT serve the customers but rather attempt to EXTORT money from them. Definetly NOT a community business nor fair nor civil.

This is not a RipOff...

Wow...it is amazing the attitude some people have.  As you were late and actually told of the consequences yet you still try to turn it around and blame the company.

You admit you were late...you admit that you were told you could be charged a deposit.  Where surprise, surprise they actually follow through.  If the amount you would be charged was such a huge issue how come you didn't call them and find out how much it would be before you became late?

Oh and the amount is not a ficticious amount.  $150 is REAL and if you don't pay it they can cut off your electricity.   So out of curiosity what amount would you think would be "valid"?

Here is a thought...perhaps try paying your bills on time in the future and you can avoid this all together.
