Gerber baby Foods charges $16/17 for a can of powder baby formula. These cans last about 2-3 days of feeding for the baby. I know this by talking to customers who buy the product.
This seems like an inappropriate and price gouging amount for the product, espacially when you consider that the product is paid for with our tax money through the Department of Agricultures's WIC program.
It looks to me like Gerber is ripping off the consumer and taxpayer sanctioned by a government subsidy program and that these are inflated prices to pad profit. Many of the WIC checks pay for 5-6 cans at $17 per can on a single check.
You do the math. I addressed this proble \lem with Wisconsin State Senator Fitzgerald via an email, but he failed to respond.
