Bee Ridge Road Hyundai lied about:

Finance amount (changed it several times, even with paperwork)

Added on "extras" that I specifically asked NOT to add (i.e. "Data Dots" for marking the parts, and so on).

After deal and paperwork was done, called me back two weeks later telling me I HAD to come in immediately because I was not financed by Hyundai Motor Credit until they received one more paystub (I gave them six paystubs, as I have access to this information immediately online anywhere; six paystubs = twelve weeks of salary; isn't this enough? This is when I discovered additional charges for "extras" I did not want imbedded into final price and not itemized on final paperwork)

Gettel Hyundai salesman and finance manager then told me, when I did arrive after numerous phone calls, that it as I who decided to change the paperwork. (Huh? I was packed and ready for a long-driving trip, which I had to delay due to their repeated phone calls).

After the above statement: the same representatives of Gettel told me that I was NOT FINANCED after I had driven the car for two weeks. When I began protesting, the response was: "It's Florida law to allow you to take the car without financing"

Since I drove the car off the lot, the statement from the Gettel reps was that I had to keep the car (basicallly, it was already packed for the trip...they took my three year old Toyota to only God knows where, so when I took possession of the Hyundai two weeks prior, what could I do? Public transporation is fairly unreliable here.

Then the problems started with Hyundai Motor Credit, which is still not resolved. Basically, I obtained another loan, and the lender paid everything but two payments on the Hyundai. Since I was now paying two loans, believing that my two payments for Hyundai were not due until 2016 (you'd think that the payments would be deferred after paying 99%). It wasn't, according to the phone calls.....that came every 30 minutes or so to my cell phone and my work.

I asked them to stop calling my work; they did not. I asked them not to call my cell phone; they didn't listen.

I paid what I could....as a part-time employee with my 12 year employment with a large airline, I had little recourse but to try to pay them off until I could get a student loan I was waiting for. Nothing stemed the phone calls from Hyundai Motor Credit. No one listened.

Meanwhile, I put in complaints about the dealership and their fraudulant business practices.

Received a case number and names.

Nothing.

Called about my title, after I paid the car off in December of 2010. Hyundai Motor Credit told me they would send the title to the new lender. Guess what? That's not what they are supposed to do, and they didn't send it to me or them anyway.

Called again: 20 times in January, and was on hold a minimum of 3 hours each call (on a cell phone.....yes, I am charged minutes.....no, Hyundai Motor Credit has no email to contact.....no, I never was able to talk to a rep because the office closed before I was helped on the phone.....)

Meanwhile, my new lender has now upped my loan interest to 14.5% because they have not received the title from me through Hyundai Motor Credit.

I finally was able to speak with four reps of Hyundai Motor Credit today, they "wavied" the last payments (seventeen dollars, $17) on my account (well, great, I paid "fees" for being "late" already throughout November and December after paying over 23 thousand dollars to pay off the car). Now, I have to get all the information sent to Florida DMV.

Yes....this is what should have occurred in October/November/December 2010. The "fees" for being "late" is what I was paying this poor excuse for a lender.

I've had four new cars over my lifetime: Dodge; Toyota; Ford; and now the Hyundai. I've had lenders of all different types for several loans for cars and other items.

Never have Iexperienced such inexperienced, unhelpful, and just plain pathetic salesmen, financial officers and managers, customers service and credit representatives in my entire financial life.

Never again will I purchase a Hyundai....not because I do not like their cars, but because of their inability to perform normal business functions, to keep promises, and to deal with customers.

However, Hyundai motor vehicles are OVERPRICED. I am truly kicking myself for not just waiting until my credit score went up further. It is partially my fault, because I wanted a nice new car for my long ride to the Northeast, but my Toyota was perfectlly able to do the trip (and has many times). The promises of low payments, fair credit, and somewhat fair salesmen, financial reps, and customer service reps.

Do yourself a favor, stay away from the Gettel family of dealerships in the Southwest Florida area. They are true thieves: they will rob you of your health (while trying to rectify issues that they cause); rob you of your money through hidden charges and fees; and rob you of your confidence in buying any type of car again.

Good luck!
