Comments: My experience with Geico Liabilty has been terrible. I was recently involved in an accident. A person merged into my lane and
struck the side of my car ripping off the bumper and the inner sheet metal. I then called Geico at the scene of the accident. The person who hit my car talked with my agent and told them that it was his fault. My Geico agent said that she took care of everything and all of the
details. I called few days later and my agent told me that the guy changed his story. Now my agent Melissa Clarke told me that I will not
get a reimbursement from my deductible because of lack of evidence. What happened to admittal of fault when I first called? I feel like Geico has mishandled my claim and now I am getting the short end of the stick. I am now inconvenienced without a car and short of my $1000 deductible
Pain in my a**.....All my friends and family will not pay for this insurance company

Did you make a claim?

If the other drivers insurance has decided their driver was not at fault, Gieco is going to cover your loss subject to the deductable on your contract. You need to make a claim against the other driver's insurance to get your deductible back. He/she is the one responsible for that. If the other driver's insurance company rejects your claim, then you have to file against the driver in small claims. The other driver's insurance company will then have to explain to a judge why their client is not responsible for damages.
The key here is that the other driver changed their story. The other insurance company has decided to go with the new story, so what was an open and shut case before is now being contested. Even if Geico has a recording of the other driver admitting fault, it's probably not admissable as evidence.
The whole point of a deductible is to limit the amount the insurance company pays out on a claim. If you think $1000 is excessive, Gieco will be happy to sell you a policy (at a higher price) that has a much lower deductible. Why you think Geico should waive a $1,000 deductible that is clearly in their contract is beyond me.
