Tallahassee City Commissioner Gil Ziffer has in my opinion completely exploited his powers to rip-off tax payers for $100,000.  

Last year Gil's wife, Gail Stansbery-Ziffer, was taking a jog in Tallahassee and happened to trip on one of the thousands of broken sidewalks we have.   Gail apparently injured her hip and had medical expenses, that were fully covered by her insurance.   

With political contacts throughout the entire system, Gil Ziffer came up with a brilliant idea:  what if we sue the City of Tallahassee and settle with them for a clean $100k.  I can recuse myself when the decision is made...and my good-old-boy friends will look out for my wife and me, giving us a nice settlement.

Yes indeed, the plan worked.   Gil Ziffer was able squeeze a $100,000 settlement from the city of Tallahassee, as his wife had a "hard time walking" after she tripped on a sidewalk in broad daylight!    And of course, the money that was paid out came from minimum wage employees tax dollars, the very families that struggle to put food on the table. 

Health insurance covered the medical expenses...but apparently there were other "expenses" that were not covered by this "trip and fall" during broad daylight on one of the thousands of broken side walks.   No, I guess Gail is going to be in horrendous pain for the rest of her life and never walk normally again.

I call BS on this.   There are tens of thousands of people that fall on the sidewalks in Tallahassee, especially after drunked revelries at FSU football games.   Can you imagine what it would look like if all of these people sued the city and got $100k settlements?!!!  The City of Tallahassee would be dead broke.

Gil Ziffer should have used the $100,000 of hard earned tax payer money to fix the sidewalks, NOT pad his wife's pocket.   Hmmm, I wonder if Gil is enjoying the spring time landscaping at his beautiful home...and it's reported that people have seen Gail walking around just fine.    

It's time to call for an investigation into this matter.    How many people in Tallahassee that slip on sidewalks receive $100k from the city?   I wouldn't be surprised if Gil Ziffer is the first to get $100k out of it, would you be?
