I, too, feel that I have been scammed by Global Explorers, and I am pursuing action against them. It was interesting to read the other reports about them. I wonder if anyone has succeeded in obtaining relief from GE.

I have filed a complaint with Ms. LuAn Stiles, Director, Sellers of Travel, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Consumer Services, Terry Lee Rhodes Building, 2005 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL 32399-6500. Although I filed the complaint with that office against Global Explorers, I received a response from the Integra Marketing Group denying a relationship with Global Explorers. Based on this, the Travel Division of the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services has closed my complaint.

The Integra Marketing Group informed me that Global Explorers has disconnected all of its telephones. It seems to me that it's a case of "take the money and run."

Although Integra denies a relationship with Global Explorers, I have saved all of my emails, and many seem to indicate such a relationship. When I applied for membership in Global Explorers travel club, my Membership Enrollment Application and Purchasers Affidavit were on World Adventures by Integra forms.

It wouldn't surprise me if World Adventures by Integra and Integra Marketing Group, Inc. were at one time associated, but because of problems, have since disincorporated.

I plan to pursue this with the Florida Division of Consumer Services. I am also filing a report with the Florida Attorney General, 1850-414-3300. Brian Larrabee of that office informed me that they have received several telephone calls about Global Explorers, but that only one other person has actually filed a complaint.

I will also submit a Consumer Complaint Form to the Federal Trade Commission, and I will telephone Stephen Cohen, Bureau of Consumer Protection of the FTC, 202-326-3222. On the Consumer Complaint Form, it is stated that we may "Use this form to submit a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Bureau of Consumer Protection about a particular company or organization."

I will also write a complaint about Global Explorers in Frommer's Travel Blog.

Perhaps if all of us who feel that we have been duped by Global Explorers would file reports with the Travel Division of the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services, with the Florida Attorney General, and with the Federal Trade Commission, it may be that we would have greater influence in having our complaints addressed and obtaining relief.

Global Explorers, World Adventures By Integra, another sad story

AUTHOR: Traveler - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 01, 2008

I, too, feel that I have been scammed by Global Explorers, and I am pursuing action against them.

I responded to a postcard invitation which promised a free round-trip airfare anywhere in U.S. When I received the voucher, it was offfered by Millenium Travel and Promotions, and there were so many constraints and restrictions that it was impossible to use. I called Janae Kew to activate my 3 day option to rescind. Janae promised via email that Global Explorers would pay for my free round-trip airfare anywhere in the U.S. They never did. Nor did they keep any of their other promises regarding lower travel rates, etc., etc., etc.

I filed a complaint with Ms. LuAn Stiles, Director, Sellers of Travel, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Consumer Services, Terry Lee Rhodes Building,
2005 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL 32399-6500. Although I filed the complaint with that office against Global Explorers, I received a response from Tracy Smith of World Adventures/Integra Marketing Group.

I spoke to Tracy Smith via telephone, and she informed me that Global Explorers has disappeared, but that that its owners are/were Andy and Kris Bartol, Florida residents.

All of the documents we signed for this travel club membership included World Adventures by Integra as well as Global Explorers both on the letterhead and within the documents.

Tracy explained that the relationship between Integra and Global Explorers is that Global Explorers is the distributor or merchandiser for World Adventurers by Integra. Tracy offered to honor all of the obligations in the contract with World Adventures by Integra/Global Explorers. She should. A company which sells its products through a distributor is still responsible for that companys products. If a Ford car purchased from Atlas Motors has a defect, it's Ford which must correct the defect, even if Atlas Motors has gone out of business.

However, I asked Tracy to send me an email confirming that Integra would honor all Global Explorers obligations as she had promised verbally. I asked her several times, and each time she said she would email the confirmation, but she never did. This sounds like the same run-around I got from Global Explorers.

So I am filing a report with the Florida Attorney General, 1850-414-3300. Brian Larrabee of that office informed me that they have received several telephone calls about Global Explorers, but that only one other person has actually filed a complaint.

I hope that other ex-travel club aspirants will also file reports with the Attorney General. If you call them, they will send you a complaint form to fill out and return.

I will also submit a Consumer Complaint Form to the Federal Trade Commission, and I will telephone Stephen Cohen, Bureau of Consumer Protection of the FTC, 202-326-3222. On the Consumer Complaint Form, it is stated that we may "Use this form to submit a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Bureau of Consumer Protection about a particular company or organization."

I will also write a complaint about Global Explorers in Frommer's Travel Blog.

It really annoys me that they have the money and I dont. Perhaps if all of us who feel that we have been duped by Global Explorers file reports with the Travel Division of the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services, with the Florida Attorney General, and with the Federal Trade Commission, it may be that we would have greater influence in having our complaints addressed and getting at least some of our money returned. Perhaps it will also keep others from making the same mistake that I made.

You need to state exactly what the rip off is, when filing a rip off report!
