I purchased a radio from these people on January 26, 2001. I was to give the radio as a gift. On March 20, when I was preparing to wrap the radio as a gift, I decided to open the package and check it out. The radio did not work. Until that moment, the radio had been in it's original shipped packaging. OI reported the defect to Global Mart and was told that they did not accept returns for credit or replacement after 30 days. I explained the sequence of events and was stonewalled. Can you help?

The Invoice number is 105040
I am out $46.96 (which I need to pay my newly risen PG and E bill.)

I sent a copy of this complaint to the Att'y Generals of California and Utah.

Thank you Eric for your candid comments. Although we strive to do our best, there are occasions when we fall short. If there seems to be anything more that we could do with regard to this order, please contact us. I am sorry for any verbal abuse that took place. My apologies.

With regard to Global Mart only resolving the situation after the Rip-off Report was filed, we had no knowledge of the filing until recently, thus our rebuttal in the last few weeks. I certainly would not let this type of negative and incomplete report go unanswered.

For every negative report ten people are told. For every positive report the story dies with the storyteller.

True. The matter was successfully resolved, though not exactly in a timely manner and after I had taken some verbal abuse. I suspect the RipOff Report had some effect on the eventual settlement. Thanks RoR.

This situation was resolved to the satisfaction of the customer. In April 2001 we shipped a replacement radio in a timely matter despite our 30 day return policy. It is unfortunate that this report was not cleared up and corrected sooner. We stand behind our business, and excellent customer service has been and will be the standard by which we operate.
