First let me say I was NOT taken by these people thanks to the warnings from others I'd read here at Ripoff Report. My story happened just minutes ago is as follows:

I received a call from Kenny McCormick of Global Timeshare Sales stating that we had spoken in the past about a time share we had for sale and at the time we had elected to use another sales company. This was true "they" had contacted us in the past. He wanted to know if we were still interested in selling because he had an interested couple.

I said we were still interested in selling. He asked how much we were looking to get I said $15k. His response was, he thought he could get 18K - 20K because it was a Christmas week and asked If I thought could live with that? Naturally I said yes (while the bells were going off that something wasn't sound). Knowing what slime most sales people are, what sales person in their right mind is going to offer more money for a product when they could tell the buyer the higher price and pocket the difference? "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is". He said he would get in touch with the buyer and get back to me, left his contact info and we hung up.

I Googled "Global Timeshare Sales, Scam" on the net and found multiple warnings. With enough time to read all I needed to know it basically works like this: They make you think they have a buyer, charge you a "processing fee" tell you to say there "isn't" a sale pending so the salesperson can get their commission and you the sale (but I suspect gets them legally off the hook because you state there is NOT a sale pending). I knew this was a scam so I awaited the call back.

About 20 minutes later I get a call from a LuAnne McGuire of Global Timeshare Sales stating her associate had contacted me about a time share purchase and she wanted to get all the details to start the process. She was smooth and asked a lot of questions making it sound like she needed this information for the buyer. I asked her to slow down and I drilled her for how she found us, how she knew our time share was for sale, what her physical address was, phone number etc etc. she had all the answers.

Convinced these were the same people I'd just read of I said LuAnne, I just read some really interesting information about your company on the internet. I told her I was very suspicious, was no longer interested and suggested she take us out of her data base and never call us again. She stayed calm and asked if I was sure it was the same company as there were multiple companies with similar sounding names. I said "you're salesman Mr. McCormick couldn't have been more on que with his pitch from what I just read if he'd been reading a script."

I proceeded to read her the first paragraph from someone who had been scammed by Global and the paragraph was word for word what I had heard right down to offering me $20k for my $15K time share. So then I said, "I'll tell you what can I assume there is no fee required on my part to make this sale?" She said "well there's a processing fee." I said "Well if this is not the same company and you are legitimate I'll let you sell my condo for $20k and you simply take your fee out of the purchase price." She said we aren't authorized to work that way, know body works that way."

I told her that I think I'll just hold onto my time share and please don't call us again. To that (knowing she'd been caught) she started spewing "you'll never sell your time share, know body buys times shares that way" blah blah blah... She suddenly lost that air of professionalism and her true colors came out. I'll mimic what others have said about this company, "If you own a time share, beware of the scam artists trying to get you to pay them up front to sell it for you."
