I called the agent it said to call.  Was told that I was winner of a 10,000-dollar sweepstake. A check was enclosed with the notice in the amount of $985.73 which was supposed to be used for taxes.  I was to deposit or cash said check and make a payment to an instructed location through western union, which I did.  Then I could not get ahold of anyone the next day.  I figured it was a scam.  I came out with the check or I thought.  Then next day finally got ahold of someone, named Lexi, and she seemed legit.  Because she said this was outrageous.  That her company was just promoting this sweepstakes.  That she was upset, blah, blah, blah.  Then she went on to state that FedEx had my remaining balance check, that they would not release it until I paid an insurance fee.  I said, "Why am I being penalized for something, when I'm the third party?"  Lexi, said she got it down to $275.  That that is all I had to pay.  My check is already in California that FedEx is just waiting for this..  Well, I paid it.  But I had to borrow this money thinking I was going to get it back immediately!! Well, two, three days pass.  Nothing from FedEx.  Well, it's good to know that people can live with themselves and look at themselves in the morning.  I am a single mother of four.  That money that I borrowed is now coming out of Christmas money that I didn't have to begin with.  So Kudos for these scoundrels that have no shame.  Luckily for me, I made a copy of check and letter, if anyone can tell me where I can send this information to begin the process of getting these people and preventing anyone else getting swindled, let me know.
