GMAC Mortgage Company Ripoff Is Destroying My Credit Rating! Nationwide

In June of 2004 GMAC reported me as being 30 days late on my mortgage payment. No one contacted me to tell me that my payment had increased due to a minium balance requirement.

In the begining of 2004 I started online banking and set up an automatic payment with GMAC for my payment amount. In October I finally got a call for them threatening foreclosure.

I explained to the representitive that I had a fixed rate and my insurance and taxes had not increased. So, why did my payment go up and why wasn't I contacted? The representive said that it was my responsiblity to open the hard copy (statement).

I quickly sent them the additional money needed to make my account current. I explained that I have been doing business with them for years never missing a payment and asked them as a courtesy if they would contact the credit bureau and have them remove the 4 months of 30 day past due reports they submitted.

All they were willing to do is credit me for one month in late fees and would not get involved in helping me to resolve my credit rating issue, even when I told them that I had been turned down for credit because of it and my insurance premium was going to increase.

I have not gotten any satifation and am still trying to resolve this matter out of court. I think I am entitled to a notice stating that my escrow account was underfunded and that my payment would increase, instead I got a regular statement were it was easily overlooked.

What ever it takes to restore my credit I intend to do, I plan to pursue this matter!
