Gmail Customer Support Help Desk No one should ever be charged to delete an email account!!! Internet

I believe this company is a scam. They tried to charge me $99 just to delete my Gmail account. I did a Google search and came across their website. I called the number on their website and immediately noticed that the company name wasnt mentioned in the automated system, nor did the rep with an Indian accent say the company name. Instead, he said "thank you for calling the help desk how can I help you". Very strange! He also claimed that he that he was a contractor with Google, they outsourced their customer service call center to them so any customer service calls would be routed to them. Anyway, I explained that I deleted my Gmail account but I kept getting an annoying error notification on my phone saying that some type of action was required. Didnt know what it was referring to but it wouldnt go away. By the way, this was a miscellaneous email account so I didnt even put my real name and phone number on it when I first opened it. So the rep asked me for info: email address in question and password. I gave it to him. He then put me on hold to talk with his tech support supervisor claiming he had to discuss the issue with him. He came back and told me that the error notification wouldnt go away on my phone because a Russian hacker was trying to gain access to the email account, and that it would cost me $99 to delete the account and get the error message to clear off my phone. I told him you got to be crazy, what is this a scam....and hung up in his face immediately!
