My husband and I have been contacted by a company saying they are working for safelink promotion department. They stated that we won a $100.00 walmart gift card, and for a fee of $1.95 for shipping they would mail us the gift card in 2 days. The lady asked for my husbands credit card information to pay for the $1.95 shipping cost of the gift card. Once she got his credit card information and address she gave a confirmation number. She than began talking really fast asking if my husband wanted to signup for something else. As soon as he declined she immediately hung up on him, after she already got his credit card information. My husband called the number right back, this time a guy answered and my husband explained what had just happened to him. The main said we need your credit card information to finish this shipping cost for your gift card. We began to tell th e man the lady already got his credit card number and immediately the $1.95 was already charged on my husbands card. My husband explained to the man over and over that he already gave his credit card information and that we have a confirmation number. The man began to say we need to get your credit card information one more time to confirm because the call was lost. He said we also needed another confirmation number. In that case, that is because the lady he first talked to hung up on my husband. My husband gave the man his credit card information again, the immediately said just agree to these questions that are asked. He than had a machine recording talking really fast, he was unable to understand what was being said.

After the recording would talk fast, it would say, say yes or no. My husband didnt respond right away so the man jumped on the phone and said say yes. He than put the fast talking recording on again. My husband heard something about $4.95, than say yes to agree. We immediately became suspicious at this point. My husband questioned the man each time the man jumped on the phone as the recording was talking very fast. He explained to my husband this is the process to receive your gift card. My husband told the man you never explained anything to me about the $4.95 charge. My husband declined. My husband was once again hung up on a second time. My husband called back and asked to speak to a manager, the man asked what was wrong. My husband explained everything and told the man he didnt like what was going on and to cancel the charge of $1.95 they already immediately charged to my husbands credit card and any other further charges he did not agree on. The $1.95 charge is saying its from Luv Savings. The man said the $1.95 was non refundable. The man said they would be no further charges on my husband credit card.

A few days went by now there is a $4.95 charge from Go shop and save on my husbands credit card. We are so afraid that there will be more charges to his credit card. We have no idea what we can do about this. I also just want everyone to be aware of this scam. The are very fast talking people, they use a very fast talking recording. They make you agree to things you have no idea what they are even saying because it is talking so fast. These people now have my husbands credit card information, his name and address. What can be done about this. I just know there will be more charges to my husbands credit card

My experience was a bit different, but still uncomfortable

I got connected with this offer while calling the number on the back of my CHASE VISA. The scenario was a bit different:

They guy did not speak fast ~ he was slow and articulate. The $100 was not solely for WalMart ~ I think he said 3000 mechants to choose from.

However, he told me the first card number I gave him could not be used and asked for another. But in order to refresh his computer he needed to disconnect the call and call me back. RIght there it seemd weird. But he sounded convincing, quoting consmer protection laws.

He said he had emailed me a confirmation code for the transaction ~ I never received that email, no it was not in my spam folder. Immediately upon ending my call with him I called CHASE ~ they could not confirm it as an offer endorsed by them.

Also, I immediatley got an email from the 2nd credit card company ~ this transaction had been flagged as suspicious. Hmmm ... I cancelled both cards ~ too suspicious at this point, not worth $100.
