GoGo Air Inflight Utterly unreliable, grossly overpriced Internet
Was flying back to Seattle on Delta Airlines, decided to try GoGo inflight Wireless Internet access. Paid $20.95 for an all-day pass, and quickly discovered how badly I'd been ripped off.
The connection had decent speed for all of thirty seconds after connecting, just long enough to fool me into thinking it would be viable for catching up on E-mail. WRONG! After that first thirty seconds, the connection speed dropped to a level I would describe as "slower than dead." I've seen 2400 baud DIAL-UP connections move faster!
The only viable way to contact GoGo about such things seems to be online chat through their web site. I was able to get in contact with a service rep, but the best he could do for me was two free passes for my "next flight." Considering I fly, at best, twice a year, this is small comfort. Don't expect any actual refunds from this company!
In-flight wireless is a neat idea, but if GoGo is any indication of the state-of-the-art anyone who expects Internet access in the air is in deep doo-doo. I would be very careful about spending any money with them.
