Golds Gym Rip Off Augusta, Georgia

I joined Golds Gym in Augusta in Feb, 2011. I sugned a 2 year deal to get the best price. I was told at time of signing contract was month to month and could be broken under certain stipulations.

One stipulation was if I got transferred more than 50 miles away from my home club. Well in June I got transferred. I wrote Golds Gym Augusta telling tem that I was being transferred. They replied back asking me for proof, I faxed the proff to them ( a letter from my employer with my new job and location) Golds then said it needed a new signed lease from my new place of residency showing it was more than 50 miles away. So I sent them all of that.

The next month comes and they still deducted my dues, I called and asked why and they said I did not send my documents in the correct way and that they needed to be on their paperwork, sent certified mail, and received by the 10 day prior to the month you want it stopped. I asked the manager why didn't he tell me this when I was on the phone with him and her stated its not his responsibility, the web-site says all of this.

I finally got all the paperwork filled out and mailed in prior to the 10th, well they hit my account again for the $19.99. I called and asked why and they said that they hadn't received any paperwork, I informed them that I had a signed copy of the certified mail delivery, then the guy said "oh yeah, we have it, but didn't get it to the company that processes payment for us in time"
He said they can process a refund and have it mailed to me in 6-10 weeks, well its been 14 and I'm still waiting!!!!
 If you go to Golds just beware, they will say whatever to get you to sign up, but drain your account in vilations of their own rules.
