Gold's Gym Of Oxnard Overcharged and sadly I am not alone Oxnard California

In a course of over three years they have overcharged my bank account $15 a month. They threatened to send me to a collection agency if I had told my bank to turn off the automatic payments from them. I had started my contract in 2005 and they had continued to overbill me until last year in 2008. At that time, and in 2007, they demanded my copy of the original contract and refused to work with me otherwise. In December of 2008 they had finally accepted a fax copy of my contract and 85% of my bank statements. Prior to submitting my documents, they claimed that they had no possible way for them to audit the charges they had given me. I call the office habitually about my status and either the person in charge is not there, or she is going to be in a conference call and cannot help me.

2006 my mother began receiving weekly chemotherapy treatments for cancer. This had left her too weak to continue going to the gym. Her gym account is under my responsibility, she had asked for it to be canceled or suspended until she would be well enough to continue going. Management at the facility had told her they were unable to do so and were incredibly insensitive to her illness. I am extremely outraged with the behavior of this business.

I had initially joined because they had advertised they were going to have Olympic size pools. The Olympic size pool standard in the US is 50 meters in length (((Redacted)))

Unfortunately I am not the only person to deal with this severely unprofessional business. Checking my local Better Business Bureau I learned I am not alone in severe overcharges.
